A few weeks of animations and his first major project was ready, but he would wait a few days before posting just to see if everything was right and without mistakes.
At that time he thought he would have settled with the presence of Victim. Every time he saw something moving in the corner of the screen, he got a little scare; it had improved over time. He was still afraid to touch the stick.
Although there was that time he was so focused on a task that he forgot that Victim was not a pc pet and may or may not have hurled him with the cursor and almost did not catch it before falling. Vic may not have cared or at least behaved quite indifferently, but he really got scared.
But, wellβ¦ what he should focus on, is that at this moment he has Victim Files open, the personal ones, honestly, were already open 5, maybe 8, or 10 minutes ago? Sincerely, he was so nervous about making a wrong move and Victim being erased, which doesnβt even make sense, because if everything is as it should be, then even if Victim was erased, it could be redone. What he didnβt know was whether a new name would change him in any way.
Victim is not a very good name for a stick that he did not intend in any way to torture. So, change was necessary. The problem? Doubts. Will Vic be the same if he is renamed? Maybe something changes for better or perhaps for worse, but that depends on the name too. Yes, he thought a lot and argued with Victim quite a bit, or, well, he wrote a lot, and Victim didnβt seem at all impressed or worried. Maybe "The Firstborn"? "The one that survived"? "The reborn one"? ...ok, maybe not the last one, just in case.
-Itβs been 13 minutes. Did you sleep on the keyboard again?- says Victim, sitting on the notepad watching his open file with some interest remaining despite the delay.
-No, Vic, Iβm not sleeping, Iβm just thinking- Alan sighs, -Got any suggestions for your new name?-
The victim gives shoulders. Ah yes, very useful.
-'Iβd rather you choose.-
-And if it doesnβt go well, to your liking, or it's silly?-
-Even so, Iβd rather it be you choosing my name; it doesnβt need to be something amazing or perfect as long as itβs you choosing.-
Aww, ok, this is comforting and lovely at the same time. Now he's more nervous. regardless of that, itβs better to continue in the titles as the other creations will be, or should be.
Honestly, heβll probably forget the name he chose if itβs too different. He really doesnβt want to go that far. Something he can still call Vic as a nickname, um... something about victory, so "The First Victory," "The Victorious One," or "The First Victorious."
"The First Victory looks ok, so... so it shall be.
He replaces "Victim" with "The First Victory" and saves the name.
Vic looked at the new name, then looked at his hands. Was the name good enough? sure it was a little silly, but he tried. Four seconds passed with them both standing in silence before Alan started to write frenetically.
-soβ¦.. you feel different?
Calm down, Iβm fine. I donβt feel different, and yes, itβs still me.
Silence prevails, awkward, yes. Vic seemed both happy and proud, his hands on the cheek clenching them and their legs swinging one after the other.
-well, because I still wanted to be able to call you Vic, and also I wanted the word First-
Somehow it seemed to make Vic happier.
