It's funny cuz I think most people(ot4 included) feel the way you're describing but there's no way they'd ever admit it lmao heaven forbid we actually acknowledge BigBang needs someone as talentless as 🤮Seungri🤮 when they have the legendary ✨hyungs✨. And interesting theory about intentionally leaving the chorus out! Hadn't thought of that but perhaps you're onto something👀. Aha I know Seungri's also helped write choruses in the past so maybe with his absence so also is the ability😔(lol kidding I know gdragon knows how to write a chorus. but still. lol.).

I feel you but I definitely do not want him to stay away from the music industry. He's waywayWAY too talented for that and I do believe he's had/will always have a passion for music. I think it'd be awesome if he got back with the DJing/making his own scene that way; he was doing really well with it, making high profile connections and was on his way up before getting blasted by that Burning Sun witch-hunt. BigBang fans always slept on him because of how he was marketed and portrayed which was a huge failure by his management, but that he came so far regardless is testament to his talent; he's really an amazing songwriter and anyone who'd try to deny that knows zero about music.

As you say, he's also cute and bubbly and great at engaging with his fans/an audience which ties into your other point about the other members/it being a dead comeback; it feels that way because yeah, it is. Interacting at face value with fans isn't the older members' scene so without Seungri is was bound to be a little flat regardless but even besides that I just don't think they wanted to do, well, anything? and it shows. Fans were hardcore deluded with the way they hyped this up and I really do not know why they were expecting something with impact. Just like everyone ignored Top's "I don't want to comeback at all" they ignored the Coachella drop which is actually, like, a pretty big tHING. It speaks volumes. And I legit think this song/vid were thrown together in response to how angry the mature, level-headed, queen-uwu-noona fanbase that is vips got. So, there's your song and video, feeling, as you say, quite dead and flat; hope it was worth it for them.

I know what you mean about not wanting Seungri to rejoin, but I don't think it's fair to say they haven't stuck by him. They were really interacting/pushing Ot5 right around when they all got out of the military(dunno if you were around then, but Top especially was showing major support) and GD's posted pics akin to the ones Seungri posted in support of Top more than once, ot4s just ignore all that like they do with everything else beforementioned. Like, you have to laugh at them losing it over four chairs when Jiyonggg😩💦💦 himself has posted all 5 members like three times now and that just gets a blind eye. It's literal delusion and it'll drive you crazy, as is quite evident should you so dare to enter the BigBang tag.

I dunno at this point what Seungri wants insofar as rejoining, but I do know that all five of them are brothers, family, and it seems like the chance to create and tour again as that unit wouldn't be something anyone would be willing to permanently let go of. It's just more of what life does in the meantime that's a bigger issue. Top is definitely feeling his age and I guess the others have to be too because, who doesn't? Honestly I think those kinds of hang ups are their biggest hurdles to continuing as BigBang, like being worried about being “old men” by Kpop standards or whatever(Top’s expressed this in similar terms before) and, of course, that they're still missing a member. He’s supposed to be FreeRi in... let’s see counting this one... four? more? seasons? Interesting. Almost like... it’s “without reason” in the meantime...
