LGBT Rant
Ok, time for another rant and it hasn’t even been 24 hours since my last one.
I am a member of the LGBT community. I am pansexual. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it means that I am attracted to a persons personality and the way they are rather than what’s in between their legs.
Now that that is out of the way. Tumblr has a serious fucking problem when it comes to the LGBT community. And here’s the worst part…. the problem is the LGBT COMMUNITY. Read that again. The problem with the LGBT community is the community itself. People in the community are constantly telling others that they are not something they are or that their sexuality/gender doesn’t exist. Who the fuck are you to tell me that only lesbians and gays exist? Seeing as I know who the fuck I am and you can’t tell me shit.
It’s fucking horrendous the way we as a community treat each other. We constantly tell people they aren’t “gay enough” or don’t look “trans”. What the fuck is wrong with you people. Not everyone can afford to do certain things and have to make due with what they have. They are constantly told by the outside world and their families that they are an abomination or that they are worthless. And then they turn to their community who then tells them that they basically don’t exist. What gives you the fucking right?
On the other side, we have this representation in media shit. Look, not everyone who is gay or bi or whatever is ready to come out or even wants to be on TV. So this “cis gendered people need to stop portraying LGBT characters” shit needs to stop. It’s representation. It is someone who may not be a part of the LGBT community but thinks we deserve to have some sort of representation on TV and in movies sticking their neck on the line and saying fuck you to the assholes who want to make it seem like we don’t exist.
So what if they aren’t a member of the community? They are awesome enough to say “fuck it. I don’t care what people think of me this story needs to be heard.” Because if they were just in it for the money there are a ton of other jobs they could do in which they don’t have to play a gay character. The community has no problem with a gay man like Matt Bomer or Neal Patrick Harris playing a straight guy who is either overly so or a womanizing asshole but the moment someone like Jared Leto plays a trans woman there’s an uproar.
What proof do you even have that Jared Leto is even straight? What if he isn’t? Are you just going to assume he is because he mostly dates women. What if the men he dates aren’t famous and he doesn’t want them in the spotlight. Who are you to fucking judge? Stop thinking just because a person primarily dates women or men that that means they aren’t LGBT.
Now yes, I know. We do need more people who are actually in the LGBT community out there representing but there’s only so many of them and not all of them want to come out. Some may never come out. And that is completely within their right.
Like that shit when everyone got pissy about Colton Haynes and his “secret gay “past and he was like “Was it a secret?” It really isn’t. Maybe he likes guys maybe he doesn’t. Maybe he doesn’t label himself as anything and very much like me, dates whoever the fuck he wants because he cares more about who someone is as a person and who gives a fuck about anything else.
This community has to do a major overhaul because we are our own worse enemies. We talk about how we love each other and then ignore whoever’s sexuality that we don’t understand and look down on other’s gender that doesn’t match ours. This labeling shit is something that normal society has brainwashed us to do to each other and it needs to fucking stop.
Love whoever the fuck you want to love. Be whoever the fuck you want to be. As long as you be true to your motherfucking self, everyone else can kiss the fattest part of your ass. If anyone tells you that your gender identity, sexual preference or lack there of for either, doesn’t exist; tell that cockjuggling thundercunt to fuck themselves gently with a chainsaw and sashay away out of your motherfucking life.
You deserve better and I will always be on your side. Before we as a community can change the world and make them see us as people just like them we need to treat our fellow LGBT people with the same respect. Or we are no better than the fuckers who would have us killed or converted for being who we are.
