I am a dynamic and energetic speaker. I present important workshops that help attendees to be aware of the message behind their message and prevent negative perceptions. I provide tips and tricks that help my audience members to identify common errors and eliminate them from their grammar arsenal! The evolution of the computer and the smartphone have added to our ever-increasing need for brevity. This has only fueled my passion for grammar! I see that bad grammar is at all levels of education, functions and in all industries. A large part of our society really needs some help with the basics of good grammar in communications. That is what I do! I present what can be dry and dull material in a fun, conversational way. I engage my audiences for lively, interactive discussions where they feel safe to ask questions. You can expect a good dose of humor when you come to hear me speak! _______________________________ My self-proclaimed grammar nerd status has its roots in my grade school years, specifically in fourth grade English with Mrs. Schneiders. One of my fondest memories of her class was an exercise many years ago, when the Pittsburgh Pirates were a real baseball team! She had placed photos of the players on the board and had us phonetically spell each of their names. Then, she had us come to the board and do the same for each of our names. I just loved that exercise! That is my earliest memory of what has clearly served as a foundation for me. Thrust forward to twelfth grade where students had the choice of Literature or Business English. Of course, I chose Mrs. Snead’s Business English class. I loved her class! I guess she knew of my grammar nerd status when, with some principle that she was reviewing, she stopped and then asked me if her thinking was correct. Earned me instant points with my friends. Yeah, right! Anyway, though I never formally pursued a degree or career in English, it has always been a passion of mine. The older that I get, and the more that we evolve as a cell-phone-texting society, the more that I appreciate my nerdery! I believe that we are all nerds about something, but we can't be nerds about everything. So, we all need each other. Yeah, that’s right! I may be really nerdy about spelling and punctuation and using the correct form of there/their/they’re, but not at all interested in robotics…or building websites…or electronics…or whatever! In addition to needing each other, I believe that we should help each other. I would love to help your employees to better communicate about your business.
