The Gothic Alice

I've had this costume on my mind for some time now(colllege.) I wanted to make a costume inspired by my culture and I've always been obsessed with the Vejigante masks from PR. Here's my take on those classic designs.

Watching Bad Bunny/Benito's call for all of us to share the love of our culture and island inspired me in ways that took me back. I've always been proud of where my family is from so I'm glad I could share it via this design. I'm so grateful for the reminder.

I was thinking that this design also reminded me of a tiefling bard! Anyway enjoy my Vejigante Tiefling Bard, this design is near and dear to my heart!

And fat liberation says "It's okay to be fat!" and fat people say "I'm happy being fat and I don't try to become skinny!"

And it scares people that that is an option. It scares people to think that they have sunk so much time, so much effort, so much misery into avoiding being fat. And this person in front of them is just... not even trying. Rejecting the game. Saying You Don't Have To Do That.

If they accept that they didn't have to do that... then they made themselves so unhappy, for so long, for no reason.

They want their effort, their unhappiness, to have been worth it. To have meant something.
