We Both Went Mad

“This guy asked me to film him shirtless, and I had a really hard time telling him no.”

“...Was there any particular reason, or did he just want to admire himself on film or something?”

I think I kind of want to dress as a mouse for Halloween. I’d be pretty cute, huh? Chubby little cheeks, cute pink nose, and whiskers.

“That sounds adorable, yeah! Would you wear a dress or one of those suits though? I mean, I’d say dress because those suits look hella weird to me, and also dress code is a thing, but i mean to each his own?”

There’s a moment before Marcus slides across from Max in the booth. This was really not a good idea, but he looked like he needed cheering up. And comfort food. So, after a beat, he pushed one of the two banana split’s towards him, before digging into his own.

Three hours? That’s not too bad. Maybe my parents will even let me drink coffee now that I’m in high school. Table of contents and highlighting? Your notes sound beautiful. They’re probably better than the textbook.

“Right? It got better once I learned to manage my time better because I threw in theater plus dance and mathletes and GSA, but yeah, it’s totally doable! If not, I can send Summer and her awesome caffeinated teas your way, because while they aren’t coffee, they’re a pretty good substitute. Ah, my babies. There’s a reason I’m valedictorian, young padwan.  My crazy organization skills and refusal to be anything less being the main ones, if I’m honest.”

It’s not even that I don’t understand it. There’s just so much of it and I don’t know how I’m supposed to get it done with so little time in the day. Really? You’d let me use your old notebooks?

“If you work your butt off, it’s possible. I mean, I did it! I mean, I haven’t gotten more than like three hours of sleep since 2012 but I mean I think it’s worth it. Yeah, totally! It’s not as if I still use them, and besides, my notes are kind of great. Which sounds conceited but I mean I take pride in my table of contents and highlighting/annotating skills.”
