My boss has this habit of asking for me/others to schedule a meeting with him within the next day or two and his schedule is literally 8am-6pm completely booked back to back meetings.
I know him well enough at this point to more laugh at it than anything. Like first of all, dude are you okay? You're gonna run yourself into the ground real fast. Also good sir, you are the blocker to this not getting done. Please prioritize your asks so the team isn't doing everything all at once.

We found out today that the baby most likely has clubfoot. BH there don't seem to be any other issues that they can detect, and BH they now have a good, pretty non-invasive treatment method for clubfoot that, when done reliably, seems to mean the baby can expect a totally normal life, but it's still just... a lot to cope with.
We're just about at the midway point of the pregnancy, and have a follow up in a couple weeks to see if they might see something different in a different day or angle. There's definitely a real sense of grief though for the struggles that baby will go through with the treatment and the loss of... I don't really know what. Life just looks a little different and a little harder than it did yesterday.
I was given the option of an amniocentesis to do more thorough genetic testing to help ensure there are no genetic abnormalities, but given that everything else seemed great on imaging they said it seems unlikely. Also the risk of complications from an amniocentesis is kinda more than I can deal with. Having a baby with clubfoot is 1 out of 1000 while the risk of complications from the procedure is 1 out of 900. We've already "lost" the odds once.
My husband has already been really great with research and planning and support, though I know it's obviously a difficult thing for him too.
Not really a lot more to say at this point. Just gotta process it emotionally and prepare.
The toddler knows the word kosher and also that it's something we can eat. But naturally, being two years old she does not know much in terms of the specific laws. Which leads to fun conversations like:
Toddler (declining to eat some food she doesn't like): No I can't eat that, it's not kosher!
Then at the grocery store she wanted to try everything (and I mean everything) on the shelves. While walking through the freezer aisle she points at a frozen breakfast sandwich and shouts: Mommy! We need to get that! It's kosher!
Me: Sweetheart that says pork sausage.

Sometimes there's drama on jumblr and I'm like "oh I have a good opinion on that which hasn't been discussed yet maybe I should say something!" And then I remember that you couldn't pay me to get involved. No. Life has more than enough drama already. You are free to be wrong on your own. 😝
Was asked by a colleague if being an Orthodox Jew means I celebrate Orthodox Easter. That's, um, a new one for me.
Things my toddler absolutely will not touch this pesach: matzo or anything with matzo in a visible form (matzo pizza, matzo brie, etc.)
Things my toddler will sometimes eat: yogurt, cheese sticks, eggs, roast veggies (sweet potatoes, broccoli) bananas, apples, apple sauce, pesach muffins, chicken
Things my toddler will reliably eat: pesach cookies, matzo balls
Which is somehow pickier than she usually is, and less than she would eat last year. And she will ask for tortillas and pasta and we need some other alternatives 😬
So uh if you have advice on pesach things that a picky two year might eat I am all ears!!

Two year old has a new habit where she will call anything her favorite.
Me: hi sweetie do you want to read the honey bee book?
Toddler: yes that's my favorite!
Me: hi sweetie do you want to wear the pink dress today?
Toddler: yes that's my favorite!
She has many favorites. And that's just fine by me 🥰

For whatever reason the KLP item that runs out the fastest every year here is the special KLP run of Heinz ketchup. There are other ketchups, but people go absolutely WILD over Heinz. Like, it's one week. You do not need 3 huge bottles of ketchup. What are you thinking.
Signed, someone who forgot that if you want any of this brand you need to buy at least 3 weeks before Pesach or it's all gone. Oops.
Alright my two year old has officially learned to open the gates that block our staircase at home. On a scale of one to ten how much trouble are we in.
She doesn't seem to want to do it all the time. Yesterday I was doing some work in the basement and she just opened the gate and said she was gonna go see mommy, and there she was! But uh, yeah pretty sure that's what we're trying to prevent here.
This has been a mentally tough week for a variety of reasons, but social media has been particularly scary and unbearable. Wish we as a society focused on putting good vibes out there instead of screaming angry vitriol. How on earth do people have the energy to be so angry and mean all the time?? Do you not just want to take a nap and focus on something that brings something positive into the world????
So instead I will share a quick, funny anecdote about my two year old daughter. It made me smile.
Toddler: "mamma give me cookie!"
Me: "I'm sorry sweetie, it's almost dinner time. We have to eat real dinner first"
Toddler: "NO you don't talk to me like that! I'm a good person!"

My grandma passed this last week and we just had her funeral. At the reception afterwards, I went up to my dad while he was talking to someone I didn't recognize, and he (my dad) gave me a little hug.
The other man goes "oh is this Mrs. <Dad's name>?" We corrected him "No he's my dad/she's my daughter", and for whatever reason this guy thought it would be a funny comment to say "well you never know these days, it could be an Epstein situation"

Me when my boss tells me I'm getting new employees who are being moved under me because they failed in another area and need some place to be "stashed". Also they don't have the skill sets that we need.
Why. This decision was so opaque and bizarre and just forced on me. Like, my team needs more people, but why am I being given people that I very specifically did not ask for and cannot use??
