Today I Learned
Today I learned, that despite Budweiser’s attempt to sway drinkers with their craft beer mocking commercial, aging their beer on beechwood actually removes the flavor from their beer.

In response to Budweiser's horrible Super Bowl attack ad on craft beer.....
Experts pick the best breweries to visit around the world.
I apologize ...
... for being absent recently! I took a break from beer altogether to focus on running, which was great. And then I got strep throat, which caused me to stop again. With fall around the corner, you know I will be jumping back into regular blogging (hopefully once a week or every other week).
Cheers,
Jacquie

The Lamb & Flag in Rose Street has a reputation as the oldest pub in the area, though records are not clear. The first mention of a pub on the site is 1772 (when it was called the Cooper's Arms – the name changing to Lamb & Flag in 1833); the 1958 brick exterior conceals what may be an early 18th-century frame of a house replacing the original one built in 1638. The pub acquired a reputation for staging bare-knuckle prize fights during the early 19th century when it earned the nickname "Bucket of Blood". The alleyway beside the pub was the scene of an attack on John Dryden in 1679 by thugs hired by John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, with whom he had a long-standing conflict. Charles Dickens was a constant, former patron.

Venturing into small batch territory- homebrewing one gallon of IPA today! #thegermanliver
This is certainly a first... a song inspired by beer (and not 99 bottles, which is what comes to my mind).
Experimental musician, Julianna Barwick, has a new muse, and its the frothy, creamy, hoppy and sometimes sour beverage that we all enjoy: beer.
Barwick has teamed up with Dogfish head brewers for her own IPA called "Rosabi," which has notes of red rice and wasabi. She's released the collaborated piece as an EP called Rosabi.
Now what is interesting to me is this sounds like a siren singing under water, and nothing about this makes me think of beer. Pitchfork points out that the music features sounds from the actual brewing process. Not enough of a tie in for me, but if it does it for you, you will receive a 6-pack of Barwick beer (limited to 1,000 physical copies) if you purchase the EP!
If you want a sip of Rosabi, take a listen to "Meet You at Midnight."
Personally, I like my IPAs with a kick, and this just doesn't have it, although the idea alone is unique and impressive.
