************************************************************** The ballroom is entirely decorated with fairy lights and the actual chandelier lights are a little bit dim so the colored lights show up more. There's also incense and some scented candles spreading a perfume of vanilla all over the room and flower arrangements made out of lilies, cherry blossoms and roses decorate the place.

Princess Galinda Arduenna Upland. It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? And while Frottica might be a small kingdom and nothing nearly as big as any of the other kingdoms around, it doesn't mean that she isn't just as important as the princesses from the other kingdoms or that it isn't relevant! Or that her debut to society isn't a big deal!

A debut... Oh, my. Ever since she was a kid, Galinda had been craving for that moment, when she would finally turn 18 and be presented. But now that it is finally here, well... She's extremely anxious about it. Most of all, because it means she's gonna be put in the wedding market and while marrying a prince has always been a dream, she finds herself weirdly unsure about it.

But upon looking at herself in the mirror, with her beautiful pink gown, she forgets it all for a moment. She is so beautiful, and her cheeks are just the right shade of pink, and her eyes are big and brown and warm and her dimple deepens just right in her cheek.

There is also one less detail about her. Since she is debuting, it means Galinda is getting her own personal bodyguard, for the first time ever. She had asked especifically for a female because the idea of a man she doesn't know following her around is not exactly the most pleasant. Besides, she's always wanted a female friend who wasn't a part of all of this. She read about these friendships in a lot of books. A girl to share secrets with, knowing said secrets couldn't be used against her later.

So, when popsicle knocks on her door, she smiles brightly, because she knows what this is about.

"Come in!!" She says excitedly, and the man walks in, followed by another girl behind him. Galinda instantly offers her a smile, which fades a little when she sees the girl behind him is... Well, peculiar.

"Sweetheart, this is Elphaba Thropp."

"Elphaba Thropp..." She repeats, tasting the words in her mouth. Well! That will surely call attention. "Hi."

Still she took her offered hand not wanting to offend Glinda since they would be paired together for quite some time. While the answer about where she was from wasn't unexpected Elphaba was a bit cautious about going into too much detail. Since the moors were still protected mostly because no one knew quite where they were.

Usually, she could just use her glamour to make herself more convincing with her natural charm, but Elphaba was a fae as well, maybe she wouldn't be so easily charmed. And Galinda needed to be careful or their relationship would be unbearable. She had learned with time that being too nosy could be annoying. And she really wanted a friend, still.

She doesn't know what to expect when she meets the parents of the one she's going to be protecting. Elphaba just hopes it's not someone annoying since she has a low threshold when it comes to annoying people. Letting out a breath and hoping she looked presentable in the suit she chose to wear.

"Galinda. Galinda Arduenna." Not that her middle name is necessary but she always thinks it sounds a little more regal when she says it.

Elphaba is still peculiar, though. She's never seen a fae like this, not upclose. The Uplands are supposed to have fae blood but the only heritage they have of that are ears with a small point on top of it. Nothing more.
