I would be lying to myself if I said I don’t see certain physical similarities between some of the celebs I’ve followed or been a fan of over the years… there are more I could add but I think I made my point lol 😂
For @overthinkingbelle : Michael Ball with his various dogs over the years... all were tibetan terriers:
1-2: Yogi 3: Freddie 4-6: Freddie and Ollie 7-8: Dylan and Danny 9: Danny and Wilbur
Yogi, Freddie, Ollie and Dylan have passed away, so the current pups in the Ball/McGowan household are Danny and Wilbur.
Hello! A huge Michael Ball and ALW fan here (and I believe we have traded in the past as well!). Was wondering if you still do so and would be interested in trading with me? Thanks and do let me know if you would be interested!
Hi there, It is very possible we've traded in the past as I used to trade quite a lot a few years ago. These days I don't really have the time for it sadly. I only really trade if there's something specific I'm looking for. So at the moment the only thing I would really be tempted to trade for is audios/videos of the new West End production of Aspects of Love - currently in previews.
First look at Michael Ball as George Dillingham in the 2023 West End revival of Aspects of Love.

Some of my favourite less wellknown Michael Ball performances/recordings
Inspired by the list @overthinkingbelle made of their favourite Michael Ball performances I’ll attempt to make one of my own. But I’ll try to stick to his less wellknown performances, to avoid the very predictable list of songs like Love Changes Everything, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and Anthem. ;) I’ll try to link to videos/audios where I can.
“Natalie” - recording featured on Jason Carrs album
"Papageno & Papagena“ - duet with Lesley Garrett
“If it’s only Love” - Metropolis demo recording
“I've Got No Strings/I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise“ - from his one man show Alone Together at the Donmar
“When I go out of door” - with Kevin Burdette in Patience
“Sweeney Todd section” - with Maria Friedman and Jeremy Secomb
“Fire” and “Freedom” from the concept recording of Rage of the Heart
“The Prayer” - with Emma Williams during his Past and Present tour
“Who am I?” - Les Mis at Windsor Castle (the one time he played Valjean)
“All I Ask of You” - Phantom 30th anniversary encore with Celinde Schoenmaker and Nadim Naaman (just for the comedy alone)
“American Dream” - Miss Saigon
“If Life Were Movies” - with Imelda Staunton from That Day We Sang
“Floorshow” and “I’m Going Home” - Rocky Horror Tribute Show
I’ll stop here, but maybe I’ll make another list when I think of more stuff :)
Hello, new follower here from Asia, in the Philippines to be specific. My name is Jesseca, but I preferred to be called Jheca online. Apologies for flooding you lots of "likes" these past two days. I've been a musical theater fan for three years (Les Mis 2012 movie drawn me though it's the 2004 movie of Phantom that made me fall in love with musicals). I know you're less active right now but I just want you to know that I'm loving your posts regarding musicals and everything. Three months ago, I became a new Michael Ball fan, but it's One Step Out of Time that brought me not his musical theatre stints. It's Gethsemane and Love Changes Everything (both from his performances in ALW birthday concert in 1998) that sealed the deal. I was like "Okay, Michael Ball. You won my heart and captured my soul. You're good-looking, you have an incredible voice. Guess that I'm going to have a daily dose of you from now on." 😊
Well, apologies for the long post. That's it for now. I'm new here on Tumblr by the way. 😊
Hi Jheca, Yes, I noticed a lot of notifications recently and since I very rarely post anymore it took me by surprise. :) But welcome to the wonderful world of musical theatre and Michael :) I'm probably still too much of a purist to watch those movies again. There are of course good things in both, but I very much prefer the stage versions. Not a diss at you for liking the films though, so don't worry - I won't hold it against you. ;) I saw you made a list of favourite Michael performances, and I think I'll try to make one too - but only of his more rare or unknown performances. (and I propably won't rank them)

Claire Moore and Michael Ball backstage at Phantom of the Opera - 1988
Answering OP’s tags: Yes, it’s the only photo I’ve seen featuring Michael Ball and the original West End Star Princess costume. I’ve only seen the Oct. 1987 brochure photos of him in Masquerade, where Christine still wore the white dress, and ditto for 1987 backstage photos. But it makes sense - the pink/blue costume was introduced shortly after, around the Broadway opening in January 1988, and Ball was principal Raoul until September 1988. Very cool to see!
Finally found the proper source for this rare photo: @emmadetommaso: @mrmichaelball Guess what I found today! You and the lovely Claire Moore. From my days running the green room at Her Majesty's... this must have been in the interval
