The Arts for a Better Tomorrow (ABT) program students at Highland Park Continuation High School encourage a student Jorge "Kokis" across the border to the rural part of Tijuana Mexico to return to school and the ABT classes. * The area where "Kokis" lives has a high delinquency rate and he has turned around in his studies significantly since he's started the workshops. He's now struggling with peer pressure from the other neighborhoods kids. One of the goals of the Arts for a Better Tomorrow workshops/classes is to not only help the student transform and discover themselves but to exercise empathy and these students who never met this student "Kokis" only seen in him in video are reaching out in hopes that he'd return to the workshops. ** Since watching this video "Kokis" has not only returned to the workshops but to his middle school and will be graduating May 2015. * Congratulations Highland Park Continuation High School class of 2015!!!

Thank you to all who supported this artistic adventure for the nine young men and women of Casa Hogar Sion orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. I've watched them grow from 8 & 9 yrs old to now. Since the trip, they have not been the same. They have so much enthusiasm to work hard in their studies and have a different outlook on life. I can see it. The purpose of this trip was to broaden their horizons and it did that and more, it made them realize that whatever they want to accomplish can be done and there is a whole world out there for them to study, teach, work and live. Thank you once again for your part in helping this monumental event happen. The arts not only empower and heal but also broaden spectrums. It has the power to "wake up" the soul.
