When you’re so in the zone, you miss your turn around and end up running 18 miles instead of 17 🙃
((new distance PR by 2 miles!))
Still can’t believe I ran 18 miles today, that’s so far 😳 and my legs only feel 97% trashed haha

Yesterday I did 5 miles + 30 minutes of stationary biking, today I did 3 before we left early so I could head back down to school to move in! Super pretty as the sun was peeking out, I’ll miss running by all the cornfields and rolling fields of my hometown! 🌽
They’d never forgotten what it felt like to love running. They remembered that running was mankind’s first fine art, our original act of inspired creation. Way before we were scratching pictures on caves or beating rhythms on hollow trees, we were perfecting the art of combining our breath and mind and muscles into fluid self-propulsion over wild terrain.

Took the dogs on a walk and stopped at a local ice cream place! They got a small spoonful of vanilla for their good walk :)

A (not so) crazy eight trail miles followed by a pint of s'more halo top. Life is good
Ran 4 miles and biked for 30 minutes! The steroid and antibiotic are definitely helping, so much easier to breathe today than it was yesterday!
Run like a bravey, sleep like a baby, dream like a crazy, replace can’t with maybe

Listening to Your Body
Hey guys! So I mentioned in an earlier post about how my left lower leg had been bugging me for the past couple runs, and that I was going to take a couple cross training days to let it rest. Well, my body is definitely telling me I need to lay low right now, as I am getting sick with some upper respiratory infection!
Yeah it sucks to have to lay low after my training this summer had been going without a hitch, but when your body tells you you need to slow down, slow down. Things like getting sick and nagging aches are your body’s way of telling you that it’s being overloaded and that you need to give it a rest. It’s also a good way to tell if you are over training or headed towards injury. After going through so many injuries, I know how to listen very well to my body, and right now I know what’s best for me is to lay low. I’m going to stick to low mileage the rest of the week (I may not even hit 20 running miles), but plan on using cross training, my favorite is biking, to my advantage. Not only is it easier on my nagging leg, but also is a lot less jarring on all the snot in my head right now. I just have to remember not to push myself too hard when I’m feeling sick like this, otherwise I could end up regretting it later in the season!

Getting caught in a downpour is my idea of a “fun run”.
