When I was 12, I always imagined my when I grow up. Who will I be, who are my friends, and will I ever be someone cool or anything so flashy and glamorous? Then, ten years later, Iâm here sitting writing this article and thinking, âIâm way too different with people around meâ
What makes me think that way, that Iâm way too different with people around me. Well, let me make a few points for that. First thing first, most people around me, they are really excited parties. Instead of going to the party and got drunk, I found myself much comfortable visiting Art Gallery with a friend of mine, then weâre discussing our thoughts about the art. But still, I enjoy having a glass of beer and conversation with my friend.
Second, I pretty much categorize myself as a type - Â âDonât give a **** of everything that itâs not my businessâ, I found that people around me are too care about others until they forgot their own matters. I mean, please mind your own business and stop talking about everyoneâs business.
Third, I spent almost my entire weekend watching any series while people around my age probably went to a shopping mall or anywhere to keep their Instagram Stories update. Nah, I donât really have time so far. Well, at least until now. Thatâs why I almost recognize any kind of TV-series and I found my comfort zone by watching everything (Yeah, Netflix and Chill but without Netflix) (Netflix is banned in my country)
The thing about being different is that the people, some of them are cool with it and people who donât. And worst case is when people think that youâre way too different they will probably kick you out of the group or the easiest way is you will get âweirdâ label.
Iâve been called âweirdâ all the times until now and I donât see whatâs weird about me. I spent my whole new yearâs eve at home, praying that the fireworks would stop as soon as possible cause I canât barely sleep. I spent the entire weekend chilling with my cat and I never hang out in every night? (I love to hang out, but after work? Not really a great idea except for something urgent.
So, how to handle it? Weird is such a strong wrong, you know that. I wonât say anything, I just focus on what I can do the best. If they take it too seriously, theyâre definitely the different one or the weird one.
