Across the Vanishing Sky
Raphael put his hand out for Sasuga's once they were on the road, and he didn't let go the whole time they were on the road, it was nearly an hour before they made it to Rupert's house and Raphael reminded her numerous times on the way to behave, that it might not go well, and to check any expectations she might have before they arrived. The driveway appeared to be long and winding, like any of them leading to Shishi's house or the temple in the forest, but this one was fenced off and gated. Raphael rolled his window down as he drove up to a call box, and he pressed a number and waited for a response After a short moment a voice came through. "Leave the car and proceed." The gates opened enough for them to walk through themselves, but not to drive through. Raphael sighed a bit to himself, rolled up the window, and unbuckled. He leaned back over to Sasuga. "Kiss for luck." he said softly and stole gently lingering one from her before he slid from the driver's seat and moved to open her door offering his hand to help her out.
"All of that is over and done. I don't understand why you are bringing it up now? If you really don't wanna keep the winnings then please consider giving it to a good cause." she offered. "But I don't want it. It isn't my win. I can't and won't accept it and you do not owe me anything. Consider it a gift of sorts and you shouldn't give a gift back. It's rude."
She quirked an eyebrow at him. " Oh nooo.. he would know instantly that wasn't true. I don't have your scent all over me and even if we did fool him....he would only start begging for a second performance." she laughed as she used her keycard to gain entry into the room, poking her head in to see if her boyfriend was asleep or not.

"I don't want it, Simon. I won't take what I haven't earned. I did what I did because I care about you and what happened wasn't fair to you. Besides, I think if I really wanted my winnings. I could just ask Echo at this point, and he would let me swim in whatever vault he keeps his hoard in." she smirked.
She hesitated briefly but headed on toward the room. "If you want.. I just ...just don't forget what he is going to think is happening." she reminded him with a smile. "And I appreciate you helping out with the fliers..it means a lot."

"He seems to scare nearly everyone...but I get another version of him." and it was clear that she liked this aspect of her relationship with the bat. "No." she replied without hesitation. "I am not suffering...not with money anyway. I don't need it and I am not in the mindset to take something I didn't earn." her voice firm and giving no wiggle room in this conversation.

"No..I didn't think you would, which is why I tried to warn you about what Rapheal will think before you got up there and I really do hope you win...mainly so I can take my title back from you next year." she smirked at him. "But I won't need a kiss to win then." she winked.
"No...He is long gone since the attack." she assured him. "It is just me and Rapheal."

She nodded easily. "You deserve to be noticed, Simon and I am sorry if I ever made you feel otherwise." she offered with a sad little smile. "I think we are right where we need ta be." she chuckled. "I am. He saved me in the restaurant....He is why I didn't have even a scratch on me. Rapheal was up there too fighting off the attack.." she explained.

She shook her head. "No.. that's not what I said. I think you were the choice because he knows I don't just hop into bed with people I don't care for." she offered quickly, not wanting him to get the wrong idea and then groaned softly. "Of everything Gaultier said, he was right when he said I sucked at this." she chuckled. "I'm sorry, Simon. I adore you in my own ways, but I won't lie to you and say I love you or have a ton of romantic feelings for you." speaking honestly with him now even if she was only feeling more awkward the more she spoke. "Really you are too good for me." she explained. "I met Coyote when he pulled a gun on me. Echo is......well he isn't an angel....and neither is Raphael." she offered softly as she watched the numbers on the elevator lower.

"Ohhhh it was definitely you." she nodded, easily confirming it. She quirked an eyebrow at him though as he asked why him. "Oh? Well it doesn't matter much now as Starr says you're over your crush anyway." she playfully teased him a bit. "She is very adorable by the way. I can see why you guys are together." she offered sincerely.

She sighed and relented to him thinking maybe he just needed a breather from the bar atmosphere. She moved to walk at his side as they headed back toward the elevator. "I am in a weird spot due to the month and not being able to burn off extra energy and so many people I care for hurt or missing." she said honestly. "And the broken dick thing too." she added in with a little smirk, but her face flushed as he inquired about the suggestion..."Well....since he is out of commission...he ...said...ummm.." Sasuga pressed her lips together before thinking of the best way to say it. " He suggested he would watch."

She paused as she heard Simon and turned to face him, forcing a quick smile. "It's fine. Gaultier .....well he is a character. He is just a bit pushy on topics I have been making clear I won't budge on." she shrugged. He offered to walk her back and she held up her hands. "No no.. That's not necessary. Stay and enjoy what is left of your night at the bar with Starr." she smiled. "Besides, if Rapheal sees you ....he is going to think I am doing what he suggested I do earlier and that will only add to the weirdness." she laughed awkwardly.

"I really do have something of a type." she chuckled. "But he was injured so I brought him back with me to keep him safe while the police could be looking for him and to let him heal. He met Youko and Shishi and then he stayed at my apartment with me, but we never slept together again until months and months later."
"No." she said somewhat flatly, tired of being pushed on this topic. "He needs to heal. He even agrees on that. The sooner he heals the sooner we can be on our way and back to trying to find Coyote. It would take on slip up and he could be hurt worse and I would feel so damn guilty."
Sasuga moved to slip from her seat and forced a little smile before bowing her head. "Gaultier I will let you know what Raphael wants ta do. Thanks for the drinks. I'll see you later." she offered, feeling like the night had gone poorly for her and she felt worse for having come but at least she had found out where another portal was and that Julian was up to healing Rapheal. She turned to Simon and Starr. "It was good to see you both again. Good luck in the tournament." she offered before slipping away looking annoyed and defeated as she worked her way through the crowd.

"Well, it was at the time cause I didn't know I would end up with him and his couple of horses." she smirked. "I saw his wanted posters first ...They were going to execute him .....I snuck into the jail and talked to him...asked him why he left like he did...he was hurt but I helped him get out only to later realize he already had an escape plan, and I just showed up and looked like I was breaking him free."
She huffed loudly at him now and downed her drink. "He keeps trying and I am turning him down too. I don't wanna do something that will cause him pain." she reasoned. "Plus, if he does too much now it will slow his healing or he could get hurt even further. "

"It wasn't at first...but he showed up to a tournament I was in and we slipped away together.....by morning he was gone. My first one-night stand and the first and only time I ever slept with somebody without knowing their name." she chuckled.
"I think I will be okay, but he may ask if you would go with me...on the plus side, if you do go with me, you can talk to Shishi." she smirked, knowing he might like this.
She opened her mouth to reply but Gaultier beat her too it and she rolled her eyes dramatically. "You are most certainly not in love with me. You just want to see what the fuss is about." she joked, knowing she had somehow captured the attention and love of three men he knew and two that he knew a lot about. Starr's word choice caught her attention though and she felt another hit to her ego. USED TO stung far more than it should have but she attributed it to her being in heat.
"WHY WOULD YOU SAY IT LIKE THAT?" she scolded Gaultier instantly. "He is injured...like broken ribs, half his face and body is swollen and various shades of black, blue and purple. He is just in no physical state to do anything but eat and sleep." she huffed

She sighed and gave a soft smile at the memories then chuckled. “He held a gun to my head while he robbed a bar.” Knowing it sounded like a horrible way to meet the man of your dreams.
“Oh. I think you’re misunderstanding. He is bad off but he’d be fine alone. I’m just not sure he would be okay with me going out on my own for that long.”
“Oh no. It didn’t go well with any of them really. With Coyote I kept running into him while he was robbing places. It was almost like a skit or something for a while. I even started to just expect him to be in whatever random bar I walked into. A few times I ended his attempts of robbing a place by demanding him and his group to just leave so I could sit and enjoy a meal.” She laughed. “I thought Echo was after Coyote at first and not me so I didn’t like him. I’ve told you I’m jealous so that shouldn’t surprise you too much.” She offered.
She huffed a laugh at this. “No. That’s a friend. His name is Simon and that’s his girlfriend.” She offered. “She is super cute..kinda dresses how I used to. “ she explained, making it clear that it wasn’t what he was assuming.
Sasuga was making a similar face at Gaultier before she redirected her eyes to Simon. “Hey.” She smiled sweetly. “He is about the same, just napping right now. You guys having a fun night?”

She lightly chuckled at this. “I can see the resemblance for sure but I hope you aren’t cause that would be incredibly weird and uncomfortable.” She agreed. He went on about the men she had in her life and she shrugged. “I still don’t know how I managed to get of them to even look my way honestly but I also did tell each of them that if they did something with my uncles, it was a deal breaker and I also know Shishi wouldn’t hurt me in that way.” She reasoned.
She sighed at this but nodded “okay. I’ll have to talk to Raphael and see if he is comfortable with me being gone that long.”
Her face scrunched up and she seemed to scan the room. “I don’t see anybody really other than the ones I think are considering coming to see you.” And right on cue one showed up to kiss his hand again and she smirked as if this proved her point. “But I did blow it with him..it’s honestly astonishing I have men in my life at all.” She tried to chuckle. “Huh?” Her ears instantly twitching and her tail going up a bit and making a long sweep before she turned and spotted Simon. She raised her hand to wave as she spotted them, but lowered it quickly as she saw his adorable girlfriend, hoping she wasn’t interrupting a date or something. She turned back toward the fox and rolled her eyes. “You are very pretty, Gaultier, but I’m going to keep turning you away and you know why.”

“Oh I do, but not if it hurts somebody I love.” She shook her head at this. “No. I don’t rank but it’s always been an issue with me and my uncles. They are legends after all and both incredibly beautiful. I grew up watching them in a very…delicate part of my youth. I worried any boy I brought around would fall for them over me in a heartbeat. Who wouldn’t pick those two over a nobody like me, especially back then.” She offered but then waved her hand. “Sorry I didn’t mean to rant like that.” She laughed awkwardly.
“Half a day? At what speed?” Already wondering if she could shorten it.
“I’m all kinds of jealous, Gaultier. And I need attention and praise right now more than any other time of the year. I want ta walk in a room and have eyes on me but it never happens and I’m no good at getting it, like I said.”

I am sure I’d be a disappointment in that regard and my ego isn’t able to handle that kind of rejection.” She half joked.
“Ugh..speaking of that, I need to find a portal that is very close so I can call Shishi before he freaks out and comes to find me.”
She took him hand but quickly understood and rolled her big blue eyes as she handed it right back to him. “No thank you. But at least now I am not so insulted being completely ignored by those running up to you like that.” She laughed softly.
