“It’s finally the weekend, which means no more reading until Monday and time to practice taking pictures of the awesome things in life!”

“You’re irritably optimistic. Why’d you drag me out with you anyways?”

“Not at all. I’m simply surprised that you go as low to the tinder creeps instead of looking for a suitable guy elsewhere. See, you know the workoholic Ben. Not outside of work Ben. They are two very different people. I’m quite the catch when I turn the charm on.”

“No suitable guys have presented themselves; I’m not going to chase after something that might not exist yet. It’s a shame I’ve never met him.”

“Sounds like you’ve got high standards aside from your tinder guys. I’m the kind of guy that if he sees a girl he thinks is attractive, no matter the place, I will attempt to hold a conversation with them and see where it goes from there. That’s the short, official version I guess. Although I do have my coffee shop lurking days if I’m not feeling in a romantic mood. And believe me, if I want to turn on the romance I have no problem doing so.”

“I do. Is that so wrong? I’m a girl who knows what she wants. Just not who she wants. --You? A romantic? That’s something I’d have to see to believe, honestly. You’re more of a workaholic than a romantic.”

“Trust me, I wasn’t planning on it. Are they though? At least they’re on their way to a good career path. Ha, none of those. Who wants to know? For the record, I’m none of those types of guys.”

“Good to know. I think they are. Sure, some are my age or a year older, but some are also little boys who’ve just graduated from college. Much too young for me. --I want to know. What kind of a guy are you?”

“Well I now know never to use those lines on you-not that I would. Just reference to tell the interns to help them out. How observant of you. You’re not completely wrong, but that’s not always the case.”

“It would be inappropriate if you tried to use one of those lines on me. Same for the interns --besides, they’re all much too young for me. When’s the last time you went on a date? Are you a bar lurker or a coffee shop lurker or a Tinder pervert?”

“What, you don’t want to be the starring lady in an epic adventure? Those interns are basically begging you to talk to them, have you seen the way they look at you? I wasn’t talking about recent affairs. Yeah, my work calendar. You don’t know what goes on after hours.”

“Not if it results in a “You are the air I breathe” kind of situation. I’ve talked to a few of them... Invited one or two out for drinks, but they’re all the same and sometimes very boring. I just figure you work till an ungodly hour, since I always leave before you.”

“As is every other girl,” Frankie replied, smiling. “It’s just a chance you’ve got to make whenever you swipe, right?”

“No more chancing it for me. It’s officially been deleted from my phone. No more Tinder --this is a new year and a new me.”

He doesn’t look that bad, though I would never have pegged you for the  short, stocky bald men type. 

‘’I’m not. --I swiped right by accident and bam, dick pic. They really don’t wait for anyone.”

“What did you expect? It’s Tinder.” 

“I don’t know what I was expecting, honestly. I think I’m just sick of it.”

“So why not just go out to a bar and do it the old fashioned way? You don’t get catfished that way and might even meet a worthwhile person.”

“Bar lurkers might be just as lethal as guys on Tinder. They’re trolling. I think I’m going to take a vow of abstinence. --Why are you giving me dating advice?” 

“If you’re using it for the hookups then what’s the difference just getting a quick dick pick? I mean if you swiped right for him in the first place you’ve got to expect it.”

“I like to have a civilized conversation before I choose to hook up with someone... Besides, I swiped right by accident.”

“I wanted to make some clever remark on that, but I first have to get over the fact that you actually use that app.”

“I think that’s a clever remark on it’s own. I’m not using it anymore. I mean, sure --I use it to hook up every now and then, but I didn’t want to look a some dirty hippy’s private parts.”
