Ok so as many of you know by now I’ve been pretty crazy over an alt! age - so much so that I even wrote a fanfic about it!! - so here’s the basic of the basic headcanons (brainstormed with @everssball <3) that i have of them

In what we have recently witnessed in the MCU is that they cannot do romance right with the exception of steggy and pepperony. The character development is easily screwed up along with the way they write their female characters. For example, the way they portrayed black widow in the aou was completely and entirely out of character and I will not go into the so-called “romance” that is brutasha because that has been discussed continuously. I do not blame Joss Whedon for the horror either because we all know that he knows how to write a good female character[Buffy]. 

As I expressed before the Staron romance was not only unnecessary but done in poor circumstance and with poor development. That is possibly the only thing that completely disappointed me in Civil war. Especially with the fact that The russo brothers once said that the reason that a romanogers romance wasn’t present in TWS was because they didn’t want Black Widow’s only purpose in the movie to be a love interest. When that is exactly what they did with Sharon Carter. They also said that it would be “predictable” and that statement just made me laugh out loud as I thought of it again.

But at this point in the MCU the only romance that makes sense to me would be Romanogers. For reasons being that they have had excellent character development together and separately. They have a solid understanding of Each other. They respect each other immensely and They care for each other deeply as we see in Civil War. We see that in the beginning of cacw when Nat in agreeing with Tony, Steve is clearly distraught that his friend believes otherwise and the way that Nat tries to convince him of her reasoning because she genuinely does not want to be at odds with him. And the church scene my god that church scene is a romanogers shippers kryptonite.

I believe that the whole movie was perfect example of how they are there for each other and  how the MCU can create a romance without demeaning a  badassfemale charachter.  And not to mention Chis Evans ships it too soooooooo
