“You know me, always trying to do what’s best for our community,” Alison teased, pressing a kiss to Beth’s cheek. She didn’t want to let go of Beth, though she knew they only had hours before they had to return to their lives. She couldn’t help but think about that when they were together, because this seemed too good to be true. “You might want to hurry, you know,” she teased, squeezing Beth’s hand gently. Her heart started beating faster when their lips met, wondering how Beth could still have this affect over her even now. Once they broke apart, Alison rested her forehead on Beth’s and smiled. “I love you,” she whispered. She would be content just staying like this for the rest of the night, though they did have other plans.

“You’re such a good samaritan,” Beth laughed, her cheek warm from where Alison’s lips made contact. It was the softly glowing warmth of love and familiarity and she never ever wanted to loose it. She would have rather died than give this up. Sure, in a few hours they had to go back to their normal lives but she knew, always knew, that Alison was hers. “Okay then. You are most wonderful,” she kissed Alison’s cheek, “smartest,” she kissed her jaw, “best teacher,” she pressed a kiss to her neck, “in the world.” Grinning at Alison, she tucked a piece of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail behind her ear. “I love you too,” she whispered back, feeling like talking in a normal voice would ruin the moment. She kissed her again, long and slow and unhurried in her knowledge that in this moment they had all the time in the world.

“I’m pretty sure it’s doing my civic duty or something,” Alison said with a small laugh. She couldn’t help but smile at the woman’s silly little tune, letting herself move closer. “You know, you might want to get on that. She might lose steam if she doesn’t hear that she’s doing well,” she said. One of her hands held onto Beth’s shirt, tightening as she felt the cop’s lips on her jaw. “Well, if we’re in agreement…what are we still doing here?”

“Since when are you so civic minded? I had no idea you cared so much,” Beth countered with an exaggerated roll of her eyes. God, if she could have just stayed here forever, Beth would’ve be so happy. In fact, she couldn’t think of a time recently when she was happy without being around Alison. “I’ll be sure to tell her as soon as possible. The only thing is to think of the best way to tell her to make sure she really knows how wonderful she is.” She took Alison’s hand away from her shirt to lace their fingers together. “I have no idea,” Beth grinned, guiding Alison up off of her lap and she stood. With an arm around Alison’s waist, she kisses her slowly, knowing they have all the time in the world right now and she is going to enjoy it, damn it. 

“Believe me, I know a lot more than you think. Ouch. I’m ugly now? Christ, Beth. You can do better than that. Well, I do have my ways.”

“All I’m hearing is a lot of talk. Have you seen your face? I know I can, I’m just not sure you’re worth the energy, honestly. ‘Your ways’? Is that a threat?"

“Well, what would happen if I did turn you in?” Alison said with a wink. She was enjoying this pointless banter, more than she probably should. “I can use Yelp! I just choose not to, thank you very much,” she said with a huff. “Hmm, that could be a problem,” she said, as her arms came to rest around the cop’s shoulders. “We could always get a little more…comfortable.”

“That would just be rude. Why you gotta be so ruuude,” Beth sang off-key with an exaggerated pouty face. Teasing Alison was just such a fun thing to do. “Whatever you have to tell yourself, Ali,” she laughed, squeezing Alison around the middle. “I guess I’ll just have to tell her in person, obviously.” Beth pressed up to kiss the side of Alison’s jaw. “Now that’s what I like to hear.”

“She’s off.. doing Sarah shit, I don’t know. And the other kid.. well,, I’m sure he’ll get to meeting you soon enough. I’m just saying you Ledas have a habit of vanishing when you want to.”

“You’re sure it’s just typical Sarah shit? If people are just going missing...there could be something going on. You have to tell me if you think something is going on. Who the hell are you talking about?”
