okay im gonna talk about amethyst’s and rose’s relationship. i know that it will not be perfect and it doesn’t have to be. in fact i crave that rose trying to shelter amethyst from all the homecrap caused that amethyst never had the chance to rebel against it. i can imagine how relatable it will be for parents with abusive families and immigrants that come from a more conservative country or family. Or even for anyone that just wanted to raise a kid outside the collective memory just so they couldn’t absorb harmful notions of the toxic culture.

can you guys like. Breathe for a second and stop acting like rebecca sugar thinks either pink diamond or spinel is just a villain. because believe it or not, she can acknowledge their toxicity without erasing their victimhood. they’ve talked about the sympathetic and innocent aspect of these characters.
