*huffs out a breath, nodding her agreement* We’ve been through enough drama, I know that! 

Hey! We’ve been pretty drama free since....she who shall not be named left!

*beams, taking that arm again* It’s only been one million years, so …

Eight whole years, you know. [whistles] We’ve been through a lot.

*drops his arm to instead hook her pinky around his, smile bright as she nods* I promise! Would I lie to you? 

I’d hope not. [he grins, offering her his arm once more] Hope I’d be able to tell if you were, at any rate.

*tilts her head to one side, before she shakes it, smiles, and loops her arm around his, squeezing* Mmhm. But I’ll keep telling you for the rest of them. So you never forget, okay?

[he offers her a little smile, holding his hand out, pinky outstretched] Promise?

But— oh, gosh. There’s important, and then there’s garlic bread. *with the gentlest little bump of her shoulder against his arm, she smiles* You’re a good friend, Codie Simmons. 

[his smile falters just a little at the last part, but he recovers quickly, hands buried deep in his pockets as he nudges her] ....Hey...should be after all these years, right?

Codie! You didn’t have to do that. And, um, neither did they— oh, gosh. 

They didn’t...but they know you’re important to me, so.. [he shrugs once more, although his cheeks go a little pink at this point]

Noo, that’s not— I— I don’t mean to be! *huffs, her cheeks puffing, before she releases the breath to grin, and nods her head* Nope! I don’t go anywhere but work, Codie, we’re looking for pizza and only pizza. But … um, maybe some garlic bread. If they have gluten free! 

Sure you don’t. [he snickered teasingly] You hang out with me too! And we’re going. [he hums in consideration] Pretty sure where I used to work did. I mentioned last time we ordered from there you couldn’t eat the garlic bread, and they said they’d see what they could do. [he shrugged passively] No big.

*purses her lip for a second as she considers how best to explain, before she holds both of her hands up to her ears and wiggles her fingers, imitating hair, her hands falling back to her sides afterwards* We were, until one team member mentioned pizza, but we don’t have pizza, and I’m a little of a lot hungry … 

H-hairy ears? I didn’t think you were one for being judgy, Em. [he fakes a tut, so beyond being able to even pretend being angry with her] Hey, we’re going for pizza now, aren’t we? Or are we going somewhere else and you forgot to tell me?

I think I know which one it is! *pleased that she can at least (maybe) claim that much, she stands up tall, and scoops up her keys, prepped and ready for his pizza quest* But what if you only think you do, but you really, really might regret the answer? Hmm.... [he considers for a moment with a smile] maybe to move stuff with my brain, like Matilda? Or to read people’s minds. Sometimes I can never tell what somebody’s thinking or feeling.
