In 2019, there have been a plethora of fashion designers that has been ever to increase their fan base with exceptional clothing. But, perhaps none has had made a bigger rise than Open Minds Apparel.  Open Minds was created by a young man name Ayo. It all began in 2017, and since then he has evolve into one of the best young clothing brand owners in Florida. Last week, I had a chance to talk to Ayo and got into the brain of the man who is creating his own legacy.

What attracted you to designing clothes at a earlier time in your life?

“To be honest, in my opinion, I think I got attracted to it late in life. But honestly what attracted me to it was seeing people in my gear. At first my brother was the one that wanted to create a clothing line. Once I started understand things and learning for myself I fell in love with it completely.”

Who or what do you find for inspiration when developing new ideas for your brand?

“I get inspiration randomly from conversations about fashion with my close friends. Some of them also design clothes as well. When i actively go out to search for inspiration I check social media and just read up on big time designers and see where their head is artistically. I also get inspiration from the profession I want to be in. I want to become a doctor when I was younger. I thought about being a neurosurgeon. Hence the name Open Minds lol.”

What is your desired attendance for your brand?

“So really preteens, teens, and adults! I want to be on the level of supreme. I want everyone to want it!”

Are you trying to keep your brand local in Broward or branch out in the USA or even the world?

“Branch out in the US and the World for sure! Would love to have store in other countries.”

What’s next for Open Minds™?

Open Minds™️ is preparing right now for a big fall/winter drop. We’re taking a break for the summer to get ready for a major release.
