I love Louis CK and I love his show and his work. Now in starting to watch his show and I'd like to bring up a topic he addresses in the second episode. As someone who is gay the word "faggot" alone does not offend me. I only consider it offensive when I know that it is being used as an insult. Now I'm not going to go into the history of the word as it is quite awful but it's roots are insulting in themselves but the English language is constantly evolving and what if once meant is no longer so relevant. Still I do have to say that I have been called a faggot and I have been very hurt by the word. Even listening to the conversation on the show I began to get upset. So I just want you guys to know, you can use the word as much as you want but I ask that you first consider your intent and what it can mean to some people.
