another part about TLOU2 that I actually appreciated is that Dina actually does leave the farm. I’ve seen a lot of people speak out about this, but listen.. the older I’ve gotten, and the more relationships I’ve been in, the more I’ve learned that you cannot help someone who does not want to be helped. It wasn’t Dina’s responsibility to help Ellie to overcome her own trauma and to find her own closure and to heal herself internally. It is Ellie’s responsibility to work on herself and to repair those broken relationships. Dina did what was best for her and for her child, JJ, by leaving and presumably going back to Jackson. She left Ellie’s things behind to give her the option of coming home to Jackson if she chooses. Ellie needs to step up and repair the things she alone is responsible for damaging. It isn’t Dina’s job to wait for her. You can feel free to disagree with me, but I don’t find this to be bad representation. I find it to be realistic representation of a relationship.
