Theory: Clara meets the Doctor because he dies on Trenzalore and she jumps into his time stream. She changes the future regardless of this, and tells the Doctor to save Gallifrey and the Time Lords, who consequently save the Doctorβs life by Claraβs request. Time Lords can manage paradoxes to a certain degree and because of Claraβs actions, theyβre preventing damage to her timeline. Without Claraβs intervention, the Doctor never wouldβve saved Gallifrey nor have survived long enough to even try. Itβs in the Time Lordsβ best interest to keep Claraβs timeline and actions intact. Season 7 couldnβt have happened, but the effects of her actions still remain, because the Doctorβs current existence and Gallifreyβs survival depends entirely on Clara Oswald.
