There is no right or wrong way. It is merely a matter of instinct. ”

Course they was immortal. Least that’s what Daddy Lou always said. Nothin’ could hurt them ‘cept the sun and they was sleeping by the time it came up anyhow. Safely locked away in their coffins, embraced by cushioned silk and finely carved wood. Still, nothing was truly omnipotent (‘cept for God, perhaps). Least, that’s what all her books said. Every monster got a weakness. Even the devil. Even them. “You think that’s where we go too? All the vampires who fall into the sun. You think they go to heaven and become stars too?” She wants to ask Daddy Lou, though she would have to shout. Ruin the good quiet that blanketed them. And there wouldn't be much use in it anyway. His answers were, what had that word been, political? Diplomatic? Good ol' polite is what Claudia figured. New Orleans manners too deep in his bones for any sort of arguing (unless it was with Uncle Les, of course). Instead she settles back in. Leaning close to other vampires ear. Another thing just for them. "You think I'd go to hell for all the killin' we do? Even though we need it? Even though it feels good." That was sin after all. Somethin' that felt good but wasn't.
