TTHIS POST. CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE TADC FINALE. DON'T KILL ME. ok
since tadc recently ended here is what i did NOT like about ep 9:
- barely any kinger. likely done because he had such a major role in ep 8 that i supposed he peaked??
- TOO much jax focus!!! and this is a criticism ive had since everything past episode 6 that there's just TOO. MUCH. JAX!!!
- after they established jax is like a total villian and revealed why in eps 5 and 6, in MY opinion they did too much to try and give him depth beyond that
- if you ask me, they also tried to milk ribbit dying for jax development a bit too much BUT BACK TO EP 9
- i did not like how they portrayed pomni. she tried too hard to befriend and reform the misogynist abuser instead of everybody he hurt???? what
- not enough ragatha development :(
- ragatha and pomni's relationship felt WAY too rushed.... like they hugged and claimed to best friends but. WHERE. did that happen
- they casually dropped that jax might've accidentally killed his mother and just left it at that
- many questions about the abstracteds and the main cast left unanswered... zooble???? gangle????
- they forgave caine WAY too quickly for my taste. this dude tortured you for like years as far as we know and ZOOBLE. of all people forgave him
- more personal thing but. this was ribbit's most major appearance and they only referred to her using she/her despite their pronouns confirmed to be she/they????
- so in conclusion, too much jax, abuse enabler pomni, not enough of everyone else, too much straightslop
- jax abstracting was done really lazily in my opinion... because a, it wasn't even on screen and b, goose hyped him up for like. three episodes just to kill him off
- that one scene where maid jax flirted with gangle i didn't like that that made me uncomfortable
- and yk goose being a racist and kinda a weirdo
- the reveal of all the cast being brain scans and digital copies felt anticlimactic
- SO WHAT DOES ABSTRACTION ACTUALLY ENTAIL????? guess we'll never find out
now what i DID like about the finale (mostly so i don't look like an ungrateful whiny bitch)
- trans jax is BASICALLY CANON!!! i personally think hes ftm but theres enough allegories to support either but i mean we won
- ragapom? ALSO basically canon
- ABSTRAGEDY SEX UPDATE FUCK. YES.
- kaufmo appearance AND talking lines
- pre fumble ribbitrabbit
- abstracted ribbit and abstracted jax swimming together at the end of the ep that was cute
so the finale wasn't that good but its ok because i own the show now it belongs to me
