as the sage takes his seat next to the blonde, he cannot help but admire the lovely curls her hair had when she woke up. he was glad to be one of the few who got the utmost joy of seeing the hokage so carefree and with her guard down - and jiraiya treasured those moments in his heart ever since they were young; ever since they were just friends…
friends… could the two of them be considered that at this point ? he wonders where the line would be, if there was any, on what they were doing. there were obviously feelings involved, that much he knew - but nostalgia alone and a one night stand didn’t make a relationship. he desperately wants to talk about it, about them, but part of him is afraid of her answer, so intead he merely grins, content for while this lasts.
‘ hmn, here - there’s coffee too. ’ he offered with his raspy tone, taking her hand and placing it on the cup’s handle. ‘ careful, it’s hot…’
‘ i am glad you are well rested, hime - you will need as much strength and energy you can muster for what i have in store for you today…’ jiraiya pointed ou in between bites. he probably shouldn’t speak with his mouth full around the woman he was wooing but he was excited to start her training. granted he did not know much of the slugs sage art and would most likely need to consult katsuyu beforehand, but still - there were plenty of things he could teach her about the basics of the sage arts. ‘ we’ll start your training today and i am determined to make you a sage by the end of the month ! ’
She remembered all the times she had hit him when he had talked with his mouth full, secretly she had found it endearing but, her pride had prevented her from letting that known. Now there was no room for it, things were so much different now. She longed to see him, she knew a way, she wanted to talk to him about it first. She laughs softly and shakes her head. She gently felt his face. “Love, you know you shouldn’t talk with your mouth full” She said and kisses his cheek.
She was just teasing him. “Jiraia, I want you to cast a genjutsu on me, so I can see you” She said carefully picking up her coffee. She took her coffee black. She held it to her nose and inhaled, she smirked, He remembered. “I long so bad to see you, even if it is an illusion” She said, fighting back tears. It was rare she cried, but ever since she had thought him dead, she had cried so much, she was surprised she still had any left.
She knew even blind people were susceptible to genjutsu. She had done it on a few patients of hers. She was also excited to see what he had in store for her today. She already knew he was an excellent teacher.
“A Sage huh? I always wanted to be one but, my focus was on being a medic nin for so long it sorta got away from me” She said with a sigh. She finished her food and raked a hand through her wild curls and cringed. How she must look. She quickly did hand signs and uttered the words and her hair grew straight.
