They guess. They literally guess what the right answer is. And if they don't know the answer, they hallucinate one. It's the actual term. It's a hallucinated answer because people are less likely to use a product if it admits it didn't understand the question. So if it doesn't know, it will just make stuff up. And people are putting it everywhere. Despite countless studies on how the continuous use of these AI chats is literally causing brain atrophy. There have been studies on the psychological effects of a chatbot that mimics a human since the 80s. And all of them come to the conclusion that a portion of people will enter some sort of delusional state where they are convinced that the machine has feelings, and it's the only thing that gets them. You're creating mass psychosis while using something that on a good day had a 10% chance of being wrong. And these models have the very fun downside of the more you use it, the dumber it gets. Because the database expands and so does the hallucination percentage to maintain a good reaction time. Using AI the way it's being used is making people's brains shrink. And it's sending multiple people into actual psychosis. And the AI isn't actually replacing anything. Multiple companies have reported that AI is more expensive than the human who was doing the job before. And that the results with AI have been so unsatisfactory, that they need a human to check the AI's work, or their clientele didn't think the AI was helpful enough, human enough, so it's not actually making anything more efficient. You're replacing thinking with something that crucially can't think. And it drives me insane that I'm the one being painted as wrong for thinking the world doesn't need it.
