“My real-world experiences as a pilot and aerospace engineer give me a specifically unique perspective when designing unmanned air vehicles and systems for airplanes.
The really great part is being able to truly appreciate airplanes and aircraft engine designs not only for their historic and aesthetic value, but also as a clear manifestation of functional art. ”

Special thanks to Michelle Henry-USC, Noe Montes- photographer and their crew for a really fun photoshoot! Looking forward to the Fall 2015 issue of the USC Viterbi Engineering Magazine.

The Kettering Aerial Torpedo - Kettering Bug from Aero Telemetry on Vimeo.
The Kettering Aerial Torpedo was America's first production drone.
Designed and built in 1918 by Charles Kettering, Wilbur Wright, Henry Ford, Elmer Sperry, and Ralph DePalma, the Kettering Bug was successfully test flown just prior to the end of World War I.
Almost 100 years later, this full-size replica of Kettering Bug designed and built by Joe Bok and his Aero Telemetry Team, will now be the only flyable example of this incredible airplane in the world.
The background and technical details of the Kettering Bug were meticulously researched for historical accuracy and re-designed with many of the same materials and techniques that were used to build the original. Stay tuned for updates!
