• Feels isolated from the addisons both by being queer and not having the same profits as them

•Both craves the idea of getting approval from the other addisons to the point he started resenting them when he didn’t get the praise he needed

•Extremely good on stage because the benefactor takes over for him

•Genuinely starts to like tenna after awhile causing him to become a little weary of the benefactor knowing tenna is supposed to die

•As much as he complains about it he likes working with tenna he likes tenna similarity’s and differences to himself

•Doesn’t let himself draw as much with “i didn’t earn this” feeling creeping in more forcing himself to stay to the more numbers part of TV world

•Enjoys wearing red knowing it’s tennis signature color kinda making him feel like he finally belongs to someone

•Tenna works down some of the physical affection walls he has put up spamton constantly pretending like he isn’t extremely new to intimacy

•i like the idea of him still wearing the same blazer as the bigshot era but it’s been so worn he’s had to stitch it together multiple times

•has started drawing again because of the amount of freetime he has but is much worse at it than before

•blames himself more than tenna it’s just easier to live with tenna being the one at fault

• The village where Chara grew up was extremely closed off and religious, bordering on if not outright cultish. The values there were extremely old-timey, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, the works. Should you be clocked as a 'sinner', your life would be hell.

• Chara's parents, especially their father, was very close to the town's most important religious figure. Due to that, they had to keep up a neat, perfect image. Wouldn't want to bring shame on the family name now, would they?

• Chara's whole worldview used to be extremely limited. All the knowledge they had, had been twisted by strict religious beliefs, categorised in what is 'sinful' and what is 'holy'. No in between. Due to that, they were harshly judged when displaying any 'odd' traits stemming from their neurodivergence, and god forbid the fact they are non binary

• They learned about the term from the library's computer. Every outside, 'sinful' knowledge they have comes from here. More on the computer access later.

• Chara's parents were extremely strict. Any mistake meant hell would be unleashed. Nobody in town did anything about the bruises, because surely Chara must be at fault here, their parents are good holy religious followers, and their child is just so... odd, right?

• Being such devout followers, Chara's parents often hosted after church events at their place. Pretty much anyone could attend. Chara hated this due to the number of people there, the noise, the people, especially the people. They were forced to play the part of the picture perfect little kid, standing there and smiling no matter the comments made their way.

• Chara was blamed for pretty much all that came their way, if they were hit it had to be because of a behaviour they had; so some took advantage of that. You won't get blamed if you throw it all on the demon kid after all. You can get away with anything if you blame it on the creepy kid that everyone knows has something wrong with them, the kid that doesn't talk to anyone, who just stares and can't even smile right. If they try to speak against your word, nobody will take theirs seriously. All they do is lie. Such accusations they can spout, who could believe that? How could they try and spout such defamatory words against their parent's friends, other devout followers simply attending the events the couple makes? Only this messed up kid could conjure up such disgusting claims in their sick mind. To the village, whatever Chara would say would be 'proof' that they're wrong and twisted in the head, because to 'invent' events like this, they must be.

• Chara could try hiding out in their room during the house events, but that didn't always work. The door didn't lock, and anyone could wander in at any time, for any reason. They could do nothing about that. So after a while they got good at finding hiding spots. Under the bed, in the closet, staying still in silence and utter darkness. As long as they don't make a sound they won't be figured out and they'll be left alone for one more night.

• They figured out what SA was when secretly browsing the internet, looking into it when they couldn't stand hearing the same discourse in church of 'intimacy before mariage is sinful and you'll go to hell', as they wondered if that counted. The knowledge of what it all was made them extremely angry. They understood this wasn't on them like they thought, like what everyone claimed anything else was. If that wasn't on them, then maybe the rest wasn't either. But they didn't have a place to ask those questions, to anyone.

• Chara attacks as self defense. They're also very quick to anger. When it's a situation they judge they are stronger than the other, they will attack. When they feel they're the weaker one, they'll try and flee. So... they nearly always do the latter. Expect, well..

• Chara has a freeze fear response. Then they go to hide if their body listens and they have an opening to actually run away.

• Their vocal cords are damaged as a result of strangulation they went through during beatings, or the other thing. So their voice is permanently strained audibly, and they can't speak loudly nor for prolonged periods of time (yet they still do the latter).

Lighter, but still angsty HC's (CWs still apply since they may be referenced) :

• Chara really, really likes the dark. The dark and the quiet combined especially. It's actually what calms them down the easiest when they're panicking, having flashbacks. It's because, if it's dark and silent, absolutely and utterly quiet and dark, then it means safe. No light under the closed door, no creaks in the floorboard. They're safe as long as it's quiet and dark.

• Chara has (unsurprisingly) developed C-PTSD from the abuse they went through

• they have a violent touch aversion, and even if lightly brushed against by accident, even if they trust the person who did so to death, if it's sudden or if it's a bad day, they'll be very distressed and will try to 'wipe it off' over and over

• This 'wiping off lingering touch' can sometimes get too intense that they try to scratch it off, which is when they start to spiral in their own head

• despite having a freeze fear response, Chara cannot dissociate during the traumatic events, much to their dismay (something about 'needing to be fully there because if you run away during the thing, then it's a way to get hurt more). They do however have episodes of dissociation when they're left with nothing to do for extended periods of time, or when they hear, feel, smell etc. something that reminds them of their trauma. Those episodes tend to be very distressing for them as they really can't be 'in the moment' nor tell what's real, nor are fully 'there' to really ask themself this

• unfortunately, the way Chara snaps themself out of this is by injuring themself. What they'll do will depend on the severity of the flashback and their accessible means, but that's their go to, and safe to say it's bad.

• unfortunately again, this is not the only instance of them resorting to SH to cope with various things. To Chara, it's about control. Control over what they think, how much they feel anchored, how they feel or deserve to, self punishment if in their eyes they haven't been (enough), or again anger management.

• When Chara's angry, their default is agression. A tamper tantrum, actually. They will behave surprisingly childishly if upset enough to scream and yell, kick the floor, their speech will match their age, and if the other side of the argument is a child too, Chara might try to hit. They either turn that agression outward, or inward. None are good.

• that one's an obvious and common hc, but Chara laughs under nearly every single upsetting situation. It's not a laughter that can be confused for a genuine, 'that's hilarious'/mocking laughter, it's obvious it's the kind of 'i'm so uncomfortable right now i feel like my skin is melting burning slime and my lungs are mush and sticky'.

• Chara's uncomfy laugh either sounds like quick, quiet-ish giggles where they grit their teeth really hard and grip their arms or pants tight; or a hysterical strained laugh where their knees end up giving out eventually and they have to hold themself because it's either that or they feel like their limbs will be torn by just how tense they feel.

• in both cases, laughing like that renders them short of breath and often delves into hyperventilation, which feels like hell laced with uncontrollable laughter. When they laugh like that, before or without hyperventilating, they can't just 'decide to stop', and infact asking them to will just make it worse because they know they can't, they can't stop, and that absence of control just makes them loose it more. Laughing like that is physically painful to them

• that's also a trauma response, at their human house they just couldn't else, or else 'they'd get a reason to', and if that still didn't shut them up then they were choked.

• Chara usually shuts themself up from laughing like that by tugging at their hair suddenly or biting their hand, which they also do when they feel like crying.

• Chara hates, and by hate i mean HATES having their hair touched, and if it's pulled they will be sent into a complete freak out. Don't do that, their parents and other people dragged them places like that. Makes them feel like a 'thing', and it hurts like hell. Only select people can touch, comb or brush it (being Toriel, and Clover and Ceroba if it's revived!Chara)

• even though they're a child and haven't gone through puberty yet, they still get quite dysphoric, especially when they're amongst other humans. They're hyper aware of their body, and 'feel it too much over their everything', which is hell for a billion reasons.
