Why I Hate Flight Rising
I tried it out because a friend invited me. And Flightrising fucking sucks.
To start off, the only real way to make progress in the game relies on treasure. More space? Treasure. Buy gems? Treasure. Buying things in general? Treasure. You wanna know the only way to really make treasure? The Coliseum.
Carpal tunnel simulator. "Oh but you can use the keyboard-" Okay. But you'll still be hurting after a while from the repetitive presses. My hands were aching after just 30 minutes.
My friend tried to defend the game but even she was worn out from spending so many hours in Coliseum trying to farm the millions of gold needed for lair expansions. With how many people have alt accounts on the site, you'd think it'd be easy to get lair expansions. (And you can't tell me they're not mostly alts. Throughout the week I've never seen more than 9,000 people online at a time for several hours, but then like 100,000 pop up at the end of a Dominance rush? Please.)
My second main problem with the site is the FOMO and the collection aspect. Because there are certain familiars that are limited to the point where you'll probably never complete your beastiary and bonding progress. For a long time. Even if you go through Fiona for the ones you don't have, it's completely random.
Sure, you can go thorugh and buy the old items from players. but what do you need? Treasure. Duh. I really want to like this site but I told my friend I'm just not dealing with it. The entirety of gameplay resolves around the Coliseum, and if you play casually? You're making slow progress, if any. I don't want to sit on one page within the site hurting myself just to progress.
