I managed to find a link and was able to watch the whole match. Despite losing Burnley gave a very good account of themselves.

Twenty two Burnley players took part in what was an even contest, especially in the first half. Ajax brought on their big guns in the second half, which proved to be the difference. Burnley’s subs on the other hand were largely youth players.

The Clarets played a very attractive style, although it was obvious they lacked a striker and were also light in midfield. Deals are imminent to remedy this.

All in all, very encouraging.

So while Sheila is away to a Zumba lunch at Yoku, I’m on my own at the Bombay Grill with a delicious tagliatelle carbonara. The taxi is now at Don Carlos with a Guinness at madam’s beck and call.

That’s all I am these days, a glorified taxi.

Restaurante Yu with Chris, Graham and Yvonne.

They hadn’t been before and were impressed - especially Yvonne who thinks it’s the best restaurant she’s ever been to anywhere in the world!!

Hot & Spicy soup, beef, water chestnuts & mushrooms with fried rice followed by what the waiter thinks is an Irish coffee. He clearly hadn’t done one before and I ended up with an espresso with a shot of whiskey in it!

All very pleasant. 78 euros for five people! That’s 15.60 a head!
