Tom who doesn’t even know what his personal romantic and sexual preferences are because he’s been trained either by parents or managers exactly how he should be in relationships both publicly and privately and it’s really just going through the motions with dates and sleeping with women, anything to get the right story/image of him being good in bed (the man is dissociating hard)

In comes Ryland and you could really hc any sexuality/gender/romantic preference. In this au we have a Grace who knows exactly what he does and doesn’t like romantically/in the bedroom and why because he’s a scientist. Drugs? Tried them, has recorded exactly how he is with them, and knows his preferences and tolerances. Different kinks? Been there done that with other curious science students and knows where things land on a scale of tolerable to wonderful to downright banned.

In this dichotomy it would be a Ryland who’s parents and Colt were incredibly supportive of, creating a safe haven to feel comfortable wearing skirts or trying different pronouns (just because the pronouns we have now are good doesn’t mean we can’t hypothesize new ones Colt!) or if it’s trans!Grace they help him transition and change his name etc.

Tom, who originally just teased and flirted with Grace just to piss Colt off, slowly realizing that his heart actually skips a beat if he can get Grace to laugh, his eyes always look around set to see if Grace is watching him. Director’s and producers tell him his romantic scenes are coming together in less takes and he realizes it’s because he’s thinking about saying these things to Grace.
