Abi offered him a smile. At least he didn’t seem too upset, some people would get irritated. She watched him as he slid the napkin over and she nodded. “One gin and tonic, coming right up.” She smiled again, turning to fix him up his drink. “Waiting on anyone tonight?” She wondered, just making the normal conversation.

“Oh, sorry!” Abi hadn’t realised anybody was waiting. She’d been hiding out in the back room of the King’s Head during a lull in customers after a mild panic attack. “I didn’t hear anybody come in.” She continued, moving up to stand in front of them at the bar. “What can I get for you?”

Abi shook her head. “I’m just at the King’s Head now.” She said, thinking that it was tiring and she’d been picking up way too many shifts as a distraction... but it was good because Brooke managed the place now and she was close to Charlie. “I’d ask how work is going for you, but...” Abigail couldn’t imagine being any sort of cop in this town.

“I haven’t seen you in a while. Just wanted to stop in and say hey."

“No, I can imagine how nice having a little break is every now and then.” Abi said, though she couldn’t imagine having kids despite feeling very motherly a lot of the time. “Sure, I’ll have a glass.”

“Sounds like you need a long holiday.”

“Where’s the rip”

She looked down and tapped her fingers on the table before she pulled her hands back and folded her arms in front of her. “Same as always really.” She said, shrugging as she looked back up at him. “Turning into a real workaholic and hanging at home with Honey like a hermit.”

“Because that’s someone else’s property.”

Abi smiled softly, looking up at him. “Well, I’m always around..”

Abigail chuckled and moved inside. “Enjoying your night off then?”
