we saw louis getting dragged by his jaw in 1.05 bloody and beaten, we saw louclaudia with their ankles bleeding, buried alive or burned to death. louis attempted suicide and was tormented by armand after. claudia’s diary pages detailing her rape were read aloud. we saw armand torturing louis and regina in length. these are the most graphic scenes and it’s always the black characters suffering.

i’m actually not fucking getting over what they did to claudia’s character this season. they had the woman who was so hyper aware of lestat’s abuse of louis and blood in her to the point of being ashamed when she felt desire for madeleine, afraid and so gentle when she revealed herself to her—they had claudia say lestat is her maker and her blood and her favorite. the same woman who said “no not lestat’s blood, i wouldn’t want that for anyone”. this blood that connected them and made her feel what lestat felt whenever he was abusing louis. that blood. they made one of the most intricate struggles of claudia’s character into something she PRAISES

i can’t fucking believe i picked up this show because i made the mistake of hoping black/brown main characters would be treated/written with love and care for once
