Maomao becomes a court assistant and befriends her colleagues, Yao and En’en.
En’en is later hired as Jinshi’s lady-in-waiting. Maomao believes she knows why: she’s aware that En’en only has eyes for women, specifically Yao. So it makes sense that Jinshi, who is uncomfortable around women who lust after him, would prefer someone like En’en at his side.
It’s also worth noting that this is the first time, since Maomao has known him, that Jinshi has hired a woman his age. And En’en treats him with the same indifference Maomao once did.(though for very different reasons)
In fact, how rude of her! Imagine not thinking it’s an honor to serve Jinshi. Maomao can’t relate.
The next time Maoamo and En’en meet she is surprised to learn that Suiren trusts her enough to let her do Jinshi’s hair.
At the event held for the Shrine Maiden, Maomao thinks Jinshi probably would’ve preferred to have Suiren by his side instead of En’en, even though we never see Suiren do this type of job for him.
Maomao admits she’s curious about how Jinshi and En’en are getting along.
After Yao and the Shrine Maiden are poisoned, Maomao and Jinshi discuss what to do next. When Jinshi reveals he knows Yao is the name of En’en’s mistress, Maomao takes it as the perfect opportunity for a little joke.
To me, this moment reads as her most obvious display of jealousy.

Green- making it clear to Jinshi that En’en only has eyes for Yao.
Later, when Maomao stays at Jinshi’s house to force him to rest, she asks him if he lets En’en do this for him too, showing another subtle sign of jealousy.
