The Moon's Condolence

also today i was walking my dog and some old dude, in southern fashion, stopped to talk to me about her for a solid 5 minutes and at one point she started barking at something and i said sorry she’s so loud and he said to me “aw that’s alright. she’s a coonhound so she’s got lungs fit to blow the trumpets at rapture” and then chortled as though he hadn’t just spit the southern equivalent of shakespearean improv at me on the street

i might just fuck around and put a loaf of bread, a wedge of cheese, and an apple into a handkerchief, tie it to a stick, and hop on a freight train headed west 

Concept: We move into our new home, nothing is unpacked but our bed and our blankets. We finish bringing in boxes just as the lightning flashes over the horizon. We’re exhausted, but proud. I flop down on our bed and you follow after me. Soon, we’re cocooned in each others arms. We start to hear the pitter patter of rain on our window and it lulls us to sleep.

Stop being so afraid to be confident. There’s actually a lot of great things about you. Don’t deny those things, embrace them. You’re beautiful and smart and kind and you need to stop punishing yourself for acknowledging it and trying to believe it.
