Hakuna Matata

Having not been in many relationships, I've only now just realized how slow and grueling the grieving process truly is.

The pain of mentally, physically, and chemically decoupling from your person.

The tearing of your heart as you trudge forward, detaching from the Pavlovian day to day routines of a mind, body, and soul formerly intertwined.

The sorrow of learning to accept that the home, wedding, children, future, and life "until death do us part", once so vivid in mind, is destined to remain just that... a figment of imagination.

Despite trying to convince myself otherwise for awhile, only now, after nearly a full year, am I genuinely clearheaded. No longer numb and dissociative but accepting and capable of moving forward, onward, and upward.
