perhaps my most esoteric but very, very passionate spn take is that i truly believe if you haven't watched season 1 supernatural with the original music cues, you have not seen season 1 supernatural.
okay you know what? here we go. top five og music cues of season 1 (in chronological order of appearance)
in-a-gadda-da-vida (skin)
bad company (scarecrow)
don't fear the reaper (faith)
Music cue starts around the 0:40 mark
can't find my way home (route 666)
Music cue starts around 0:25.
bad moon rising (devil's trap)
honorable mentions:
highway to hell (pilot)
sugar we're going down (bloody mary): technically only plays in the background but really sets peak 2005 mood unlike the song netflix replaced it with which didn't even exist when this ep aired
peace of mind (hook man)
carry on my wayward son (salvation): first use of this song for the road so far recap
anyway, pirating is always morally correct but, in this particular case, it is NECESSARY to pirate dvd rips of supernatural season one to get the full season one experience.
There's probably a more substantial list of changes to the music made somewhere on the Internet, unless there isn't and someone needs to make one...
#THE MUSIC IS SOOOO IMPORTANT (via @mbqnoyolo)
Since they announced Supernatural is leaving Netflix for elsewhere this year this (presumably) means THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN (Highway to Hell and Paranoid and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and Lodi and Can't Find My Way Home and Fire of Unknown Origin and Burnin' For You and Don't Fear the Reaper and Bad Moon Rising!!! and yes you Carry on Wayward Son the finale could never make me hate you)
And so probably rip in advance to our worthy additions from the nerfed soundtrack:
