Snow White - Eve White

Let me explain cause this one has a couple different layers. For one, “eve” just kind of makes me picture winter/snow. Like with Christmas and stuff. But, there’s also the biblical connection with Eve and the “apple.” She too bit the apple like Eve. With the connection, I feel like the name Eve also gives very big “I’ll pray for you” energy, which Snow White in the show totally gives off. I also like the name Winter for a Snow White descendant, maybe that’s her mother who knows.

My biggest issue is that I have truly no idea who to pick for a fancast. No one fits the vision. I’ll put a picture of Ruth Codd, who I also used for Bella (evil queen) but I’m not sure. I’d appreciate some suggestions in the comments.

Big Bad Wolf - Lyall Badwolf

For an embarrassingly long time I had named him “Charlie” in my notes app — I kid you not — because I thought it sounded like a dog’s name. Luckily, one day I realized that I could just look up names that mean wolf and that’s how I found Lyall. I like it because it matches the whimsy of the other names but still keeps a kind of bad boy energy. I feel like he definitely played bookball. (He played with Cerise when she was young which is partially why she’s so good). So, he was popular with villains, and probably on the outskirts of royal popularity. Even so, I think he spent most of his time with the group I introduced in my last post.

It’s at this point that I started choosing actors/singers/whomever I wanted that were significantly older than the characters’ ages so that their younger photos could be an example of the character when they were young, and their current photos of when they’re older. Anyway, here’s Lenny Kravitz.

Little Red Riding Hood - Ruby Hood

This kind of self-explanatory but Ruby = Red. Like how cerise is also a shade of red. It’s one of those names that I just thought of immediately and it stuck. I imagine she’s always been kind of on the outskirts of the royals as well and didn’t feel like she fit it until she started hanging around the rebels/villains. Her and Bella (evil queen) def had roommate beef.

Naturally I had to put Lisa Bonet with her former beau.

Evil Queen - Belladonna “Bella” Queen

Get it, like the poison she uses. I figured she’d shorten it to Bella because ironically she kind of wanted to be more personable at ever after high. Like, of course she still wants to be a villain, but she wanted to make friends too. I think she wanted a better life for the rebels and she was kind of their vox populi in a sense.

I don’t have a clear Fancast for her yet. I like Ruth Codd for her, but I also like her for Snow White. I think she also fits nicely with a young Naomi Campbell. Or, Larsen Thompson

Dark Fairy - Lorelei Aurelia Joelle Thorn

For some reason I remembered Faybelle having two really extravagant middle names, so I gave her mom two as well. It’s a play on the word “folklore” or just “lore,” like how Faybelle comes from “fable.” I also thought it sounded vaguely southern like Faybelle. Now that I think about it it’s interesting that in my (au? ig) she kind of named her daughter after Bella, which makes sense since they were close friends. (I think that’s canon to eah). I think she believed in Bella’s vision for a better way of life and that made the betrayal all the more tragic. In my mind, she was a cheerhexer, like Faybelle, and it’s something that Faybelle does to sort of mimic her mom. I definitely imagine her looking like Havana Rose Liu as there’s something so ethereal about her

Candy Witch - Dottie Breadhouse

Alright, this is kind of a stretch but “Dottie” is another way of calling people crazy or mad, like the candy witch, and “dots” are a type of candy. She also believes in Bella’s cause but she’s got more skin in the game. (This is all head canon) After she signs the storybook of legends, she’ll inherit the curse that so many women have endured for generations. She slowly looses her sanity and becomes overwhelmed with the desire to consume flesh (a bit dark for eah? Definitely but it hasn’t stopped them before) Maybe it’s because I’ve been obsessed with The Pitt lately but I love to picture her as Shabana Azeez (Javadi)

When a ship I don’t like gets really popular and I can’t tell if I hate it for my own reasons or it’s legitimately a bad pairing, I gender swap any male characters involved and make it sapphic. I don’t know if I just don’t find a lot of male characters appealing but it works and most of the time I end up liking the ship way more when they’re lesbians. I even started doing this with ships I already enjoy just to make me like them even more.
