BTS deciding not to summit their work for the Grammys after knowing theyβd most likely win next year is precisely what integrity looks like and I wish a lot of Latin artists would do the same thing.
The Grammys didnβt create that βBest Asian Musicβ category this year to be diverse. They did it to continue boxing non English speaking artists but especially BTS, so they wonβt have to nominate them in the main categories with the rest of their peers. This was the Grammys telling BTS theyβll give them a Grammy win but under their own boxed category. We give you the scraps and you are supposed to take them. They said no.
Theyβve been doing this for years under the disguise of diversity. βBest Traditional Country Albumβ a new category introduced after BeyoncΓ© won in the Best Country Album category because they couldnβt stand a non white artist redefining that genre. βBest African Musicβ being introduced in 2024 to keep Tyla away from other pop girls. And βBest Latin Songβ being introduced for this year along with Best Asian Music after Bad Bunny right fully dominated all of the charts last year.
It was never about diversity. Itβs about boxing and categorizing these artists when global music (or more like non English music) is becoming bigger each year and this is the only way they can keep their American/British peers save in their space.

This is also why the Best Animated Movie category was created. Beauty and the Beast was nominated for best motion picture. So the Oscars created the Animation category and an Animated movie hasn't been nominated for best motion picture in the last 30 years since.
Hollywood award shows have always been intended to pat white hollywood creators, musicians, and actors on the back. They feel threatened when international mediums are clearly more popular with viewers. But they want BTS, or BeyoncΓ©, or Bad Bunny fans to watch the award shows and nominate them. Creating the side categories means that can have these guys walk on stage for the views while giving the Main award to Taylor Swift for the millionth time.
BTS is making the right choice by boycotting the award show.

idk the name for it but. i think bakura and kaiba as a ship could work, in the sense that they both have similar non card game hobbies and maybe getting to play dnd with someone would give kaiba a healthier outlet. they could be each other's normal friends who paint scale models together. the obvious hurdle is kaiba's... kaibaness, but if he got over that. bakura could use someone who didn't think he was dangerous or unreliable
kaiba would use yami bakura as a test dummy for his roller coasters. strap him in and just send him flying i think it would be good for yamiba. help him work out some of the pent up adrenaline
My favorite post canon everyone lives version of this is the Bakuras doing QA testing for Kaiba's in development projects. Because they both love to break games but in different directions.

Yugi is busy trying to make his own games. He doesn't have time to spend hours and hours pushing the limits of Kaiba's unfinished projects that might never be released to the public. He'll spend a weekend playing the finished game and play one PVP match against Kaiba before going back to his own games and projects.

i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.
