PWAA 3 & AAI 1 spoilers !!!

I TRULY believe that Dahlia Hawthorne and Calisto Yew have very compatible backgrounds. They both went through (Calisto most likely cuz we know nothing about her past) a difficult childhood. Both have spent entire lives hiding behind masks. Both didn't have close trusting relationships because they simply didn't know how to build them. Yes, they've met people along the way who offered them friendship and trust, but for God's sake, neither of them could ever become someone close to them because they simply couldn't understand them. Understand their pain and the gaping hole in their soul that sucked everything around them into itself.

I'm not excusing them, the girls choose the path of crime and had no regard for other people lives. But I believe there is still some good left inside them. Deep inside, but still alive.

And if, IF, IF their paths had ever crossed, my heart whines that they would have been able to comfort each other. To cast off the many mask and expose their vulnerable selves. One loneliness always attracts the other.

You ever just get over a hyperfixation? Yeah, me neither.

Anyways, this song is called "Eternity" and it's by Alex Warren. I can't say I like the guy, but all the edits on Tiktok made me think of this little edit I could make. I'm not super good at edits, but like... here's this.

@zarla-s's Handplates comic was a big part of my life. I think I started reading it when I was like 15, and it was something that I used to keep myself going through the roughest days of school. When it ended a few years ago, I cried, partly out of sadness that it was over, and partly out of joy that I got to read the whole thing.

I still read all of Zarla's new stuff, too, especially defrag, but I'll always love this comic the most.

So, a friend of mine who goes by Modthorne, Clover, or The Eevee Breeder (depending on where you find her) made a request for me to draw one of her OCs some years ago (God knows how many), and I finally cranked it out!  😄  Say hello to defense attorney Lillian Goodwood!

If you’re an Ace Attorney fan, you may recognize her pose – it was inspired by another young lawyer by the name of Mia Fey!

The shading is also modeled after hers, as you may have noticed.

The background is my attempt at recreating the defense’s bench from the game:

I have to say, the ability to use layers in Krita makes it a lot easier to draw something from a picture – all you have to do is place the picture in front of the layer you’re drawing on and change its transparency to somewhere around 50% (that’s what I prefer, anyway), and it’s just like tracing something on paper.  That being said, drawing the shading for the metal parts of the poles was quite the opposite of easy.  😮‍💨  Definitely a fun challenge, though, and I always love those.  😊

…and an avatar she made herself using Kisekae.

So anyway, who is this lovely young attorney?  In the words of Modthorne, who was nice enough to share some info about her when I asked her, “she aspired to be a DA when she was a little kid because she admired Phoenix Wright, but at 13 a tragedy struck and changed her mind, making her want to be a prosecutor instead for a while.  However, at 17 she was defended and given closure by Apollo, which gave her a lot to think about, about herself and her future.  Finally, when she graduated law school, she held her head high as the defence attorney she was always destined to be.”
