Seda heaved an exhausted sigh as he walked through the empty corridors of what used to be his castle, stopping to see a red haired young man with a sword on him.

Seda blinked, confused as to how this young man was able to see him before he stepped out from behind the pillar and approached him.

"I suppose such selfish feelings can arise in anyone..."

She's fighting it, and she knows she'll win. She's done enough selfish actions in her life. Selfish actions that lead to the destruction of Hyrule, a selfish action that was why she was here in the first place. Sending Link to a timeline she created for him. That was why she had to leave Hyrule. That was why she had to look all over the very world.

She had to find the dark entity that haunted her dreams. She couldn't risk Ganon taking another form. But...

No. She shook her head.

A perfect princess doesn't show emotion. She shows kindness, gentility. A figurehead. Flawless appearance, never a hair out of place. That was the role she had been born into. The role she had been conditioned into. The role she would continue, for as long as she lived.

No more selfishness.

"...Oh, I do apologize. I did not notice you standing there."

A proper bow of the head.

"It does quite so amuse me, what others decide based on my status."

And by amuse, she means annoyed her. But as the saying goes, kill them with kindness. A princess was to be polite, even in the face of adversity, and danger.

Seda sighed as he ran his fingers through his silver hair, looking at the city below his castle as he thought about the boy that came from another world until he heard the door open slowly. Turning his head, Seda was surprised to find a young man standing in front of the door.

“{…And that should be the last of it for now.}”

[Felix didn’t respond, as he was busy looking over the numbers that had been presented to him.]

“{So, have you decided yet what you are going to do about all your property?}”

[The Venus Adept did not look up from the papers as he spoke to his close friend.]

{Not precisely. We are going to need to decide where we intend to settle long-term.}

“{You’re still discussing that??}”

[Felix glanced up with an unamused expression.]

{…I was in no place to discuss such matters for quite a while, if you’ll recall.}

[He returned his attention to the papers, picking up the one detailing the animal product goods that had been harvested within the last month.]

{Despite our victory, I am not convinced that the region is going to remain peaceful. I would be surprised if the lull lasts more than a few years.}

“{That’s awfully pessimistic of you. Didn’t Auura say that the Empire is [flat broke] now? They won’t be rising from the ashes any time soon.}”

[Felix frowned.]

({The things Sheba and I have seen and been told… I just don’t believe that this is the end of it. Nature abhors a vacuum. Some other power will rise, or worse—several powers.})

[He shook his head.]

{Be that as it may, the people of Lalivero who moved to Contigo will probably stay there. It is not clear whether the family will stay in Lalivero, or move to Contigo.}

[He gathered up the papers.]

{I am rather inclined at this point in time to have you continue overseeing the care of all the property. I do believe I will have the house by the river sold soon, though. We only need the one.}

[The unlucky Adept stood, tucking the papers into his journal before stowing it in his traveling bag.]

{Hopefully I’ll have more of an answer for you by the time we come back for the Solstice celebrations. In the meantime, I have a forest to grow and a stronghold to uphold.}

“{Oh, is that what is preoccupying your time? Don’t overdo it.}”

[Felix gave a wry smile.]

{Don’t worry; I learned from the last time I changed the landscape. And I’m not in nearly as much of a hurry. It’s tiring, but not dangerous.}

[Felix left Prox with the intention of heading out into the wilds before Teleporting to the Nol Gate—a fortification in the mountains he had raised up years ago in response to the attack on Lalivero by the Tolbi Empire. But as he left the city, he was surprised to see a large structure on the horizon. Curiosity compelled him to draw closer, and then he vaguely remembered—

That was the way of the Wilderness, the place between worlds. What he saw was probably not of Weyard. At least… he hoped not; it was a rather imposing structure, the likes of which he hadn’t seen since his time in Lemuria. It was perhaps even larger than the Lemurian Palace.]

({What is this place?})

[Echo appeared on his shoulder with a soft noise.]

“Hey, Felix, don’t you remember what happened the last time you explored one of these places unaccompanied? Sir Glenn had to bail you out!”

[Felix furrowed his brow. The name was… familiar, but the memories were so faded.]

…I’m just going to take a look.

[He burrowed into the dirt path to speed up his progress, only emerging once he was much closer to the structure. Dusting off his clothes as best he could, he went right for the door.

Unfortunately for him, it took him right to one of the rooms instead of the side entrance—another trickery of the spatial warps, no doubt.]

[He realized his mistake when the other man—not unreasonably—looked at him in what came across as surprise and uncertainty. But what could he expect? He was an armed stranger, and definitely not supposed to be there. He recognized kingly authority when he saw it.

At least the language was one he understood.]

[Echo, for his part, tilted back and forth, giving off an aura of amusement which could only be described as the emotional feeling of delight one might have when fresh bread was served, warm and buttered. He was more than happy to offer his own greeting.]

[But he found he could not think of a good reason why to decline.]

(I will just have to be careful.)

(Was that pun intentional? Hmm. Either way—looks like I’ll have to forego Psynergy, Summons, and inventory resources for this. That makes sense, though.)

[He made his way outside and pulled his battle armor out of his magical pouch. He donned the plate armor (embossed with the symbol of the Venus tree) over his long-sleeved green shirt, and chain mail over his tan trousers. The plate armor had shoulders to it with the symbol of the Dragon embossed on each one. He then put on his armored gloves, each with a fairly sizable lavender-colored gem set in them (not on the side where the palm of the hand would meet, but where the back of the hand would meet). He took off his Warrior’s cloak that was vibrant green with a sandy-colored interior, rolling it up and placing it inside the sack. Finally, he donned greaves that had golden-colored trim to them (though it was not actually gold, but rather, Orihalcon).

He also made sure to switch out the Sol Blade for the Rune Blade. He had no intention of calling the might of the apocalypse on anyone other than his enemies. The Rune Blade was actually his preferred weapon for spars; the Sol Blade was saved for truly dire situations.

After some thought, he also brought out the custom shield. It, too, sported the symbol of the Venus Tree, with the branches divided into six colors: one for each Element (Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Mars) and binding Aspect (Sol and Luna).]

(Admittedly, it has been a while since I sparred. Not since the end of the war.)
