The Island

Hello everyone! So I’m probably gonna tag this as rant because that’s 100% what this is, but I’m getting really sick and tired of people being like “lord of the flies is a phase” or making fun of those who are in the fandom and are passionate about the book. It’s a work of literature, it should be treated as such. There are Harry Potter fans or Percy Jackson fans who are OBSESSED with the series and they don’t get told that their interest is “weird.” I’m not quite sure if it’s because Lord of the Flies isn’t a modern book and a requirement to read in most schools, but nobody should be shocked that there’s a fandom. There’s a fandom for pretty much every single book or series out there. An interest in a book should never be brushed off as a phase or something that will just go away, because there are people who are really passionate about it. Denying someone’s passion because the book is older or because you don’t hear about people liking it often is bullshit.

I don't think I showed this when I first made it but this was my attempt at embroidering a lord fly patch for my backpack :)!! she a lil clumsy but oh well
