Robert was born in the philippines during the early post-war years. He spent his earliest childhood surrounded by the warmth of his mother’s large filipino family. His mother came from a wealthy and well-connected filipino family whose prosperity allowed them to provide comfort and stability during uncertain times.

church became a major part of Robert’s childhood as religion was the biggest thing in the country (haha, history time. the Spaniards made filipinos believe in Christianity after the colonization it stuck heavily and almost EVERY Filipinos are religious— not being religious will make people shun you), and it was there that his love for music began. His voice first became known among the local parish community, where he sang hymns during mass and quickly became recognized as a talented and disciplined choirboy, he was also nicknamed as "pinaka filipino na bata" or "the most true filipino boy" its because filipinos are quite known for their voices, us filipinos dub it as the most known filipino trait LOL.

Robert’s father was an English naval soldier who had been stationed in the philippines during the turbulent years following the war. his mother and father's meeting was unexpected — a brief encounter between two people from very different worlds that left a lasting impression on both of them. his father was captivated by his mother’s warmth, intelligence, and strength, while she admired his quiet sense of duty and gentleness beneath his military exterior. Their romance was short but meaningful, interrupted when his father had to return to Britain after his service ended.

for a time, Robert’s mother raised him alone in the philippines, holding onto the hope that their family would one day be reunited. letters crossed oceans between them, carrying stories of everyday life, dreams for the future, and promises that they would see each other again. Robert grew up knowing his father mostly through these stories — a distant figure who was still very much loved, even from afar.

when Robert was around five years old, the opportunity finally came for him and his mother to travel to britain and reunite with his father. The war had ended years before, and although its effects could still be felt in society, Britain was slowly returning to normal life. The journey was both exciting and frightening for Robert’s mother, as she left behind the familiar warmth of the philippines for a country with a different climate, culture, and way of life.

Arriving in Britain marked the beginning of a new chapter. Robert was introduced to a world of grey skies, stone buildings, unfamiliar customs, and a different kind of church life. it was hard ofcourse, it was far different from where he grew up with.

when Robert and his mother finally reunited with his father in britain, their new life together was filled with both happiness and difficulties. His father had returned from naval service carrying the unseen weight of the war, including a disability that made finding steady employment far more difficult than he had expected. although he had served his country, the world he returned to was not always prepared to welcome soldiers back into ordinary life. The skills and discipline that had made him valuable in the navy did not always translate easily into civilian work, and opportunities were limited.

during those uncertain years, Robert’s mother’s family in the Philippines continued to support their small family from afar. Because her relatives were financially comfortable, they sent assistance whenever they could, helping with household expenses and ensuring that robert and his parents had stability while his father searched for proper work. To them, helping family was not seen as charity— it was simply what family did. They loved Robert deeply and wanted him and his parents to have a secure future.

however, this support became a quiet source of tension within the household. Robert’s father had always seen himself as the protector and provider of his family, and after years of military service, accepting help from his wife’s family was difficult for him. His pride made him feel as though he had failed in his role as a husband and father, even though his circumstances were beyond his control. He appreciated his in-laws’ kindness, but he struggled with the feeling that he was depending on them rather than standing on his own.

by the time Robert was around seven years old, these feelings occasionally caused disagreements between his parents. his mother understood that her family’s support was an act of love and that survival after the war required cooperation, but his father saw it differently. He wanted to prove that he could rebuild their life through his own efforts. Their arguments were never about a lack of love— they came from two people carrying different kinds of burdens.

in result, robert often turn to religion for comfort— despite not quite being much of a believer, the religion had given him much more comfort than being at home. its the only reason he'd had such passion about it.

woah!!thank you I've never drawn robert before but I just made a sketch 4 a concept..

sorry if the quality is bad I drew it on paper as u can see.... And also sorry if he looks creepy none of the choir boys have shines in their eyes I don't usually draw those anyways (ralph and piggy get them though).

I dont have an idea for what his colors could be since it doesn't seem like he has any description other than being one of the younger biguns 😞😞 but the little bangs were calling to me. I could probably make them shorter n uglier pre-island.

I also felt like he would have a very round face and these oval shaped pupils idk I try to make everyone unique and it seemed fitting. He's really Eyes Emoji

He would also be just shorter than Simon if we go in height order from my last drawing methinks..

hi peachy, i was gonna make u an animation but i gave up before I even drew simon, realizing its gonna take me hours and i still have school tomorrow and it's 3 am.. dont worry I'll give u a whole artwork next time...🥺🥺
