Aurelio didnât flinch or jump when Cipher grabbed his hand, instead he kept smiling. âWhat kind of pit we talking about? Anything exciting?â Placing his hands on his hips. âHey, a little trial and error never hurt, and sometimes it can be really fun. A lot of fun.â Aurelio had heard rumors, and if they were true then getting what he wanted was either going to be easy or hard, still he enjoyed a good challenge.Â
âDepends.â Cipher grinned, observing the young man. He hadnât seen him before, but then again, he never paid attention to people the Capitol wasnât requesting to do something to. âHow accepting of you! And so.. empty. All those empty promises to bear.â He spoke, his smile suddenly dropping, eyes glued on the man. His moods jumped, or so he made people believe, and it worked better than torture.
She knew she wasnât supposed to, but Pike wanted to explore the tower without the pressure of tons of people around. Being pretty stealthy, practicing sneaking around the house to let her father sleep, Pike tiptoed into the elevator, then into the twelfth floor common area. There was a bench in the windowsill, and she immediately went to sit in it. The view from this high up was incredible, and the Capitol looked stunning. It actually brought a small smile to Pikeâs face, surprising her. With the upcoming training and games, it was hard for her to imagine anything making her smile. But here she was, smiling at the view. She was so enthralled by the beauty she didnât hear anyone approaching her.
âTwelfth floor hasnât seen Tributes in such a long time. How kind of you!â Cipher spoke from behind the girl. He was used to sneaking around without a single sound, it was common to him. He was also used to taking on the spaces the Capitol did not use anymore, and finding a girl on the floor he liked to illegally keep to himself, was a little unsettling- and amusing. âThey were quicker at dying than anyone else.â Â

Grinning, Aurelio knew this was the head gamemaker someone who he wanted to be on the good side of, and get to know better. He could get a lot out of him, and make a lot because of that. âWell, I guess Iâm looking for any directions youâre giving.â Winking at him, he ran a hand up the gamemakerâs arm. âYou have to know all the fun spots around here, handsome.âÂ
The grin on Cipherâs face remained as he grabbed the young manâs hand, dragging it off his arm like it was something disgusting. âWho knew someone like you would be looking for directions to the pit!â He spoke in amusement as he let go of Aurelioâs hand. âTrial and error is more fun than pointing it out.â
âSee, Iâm not a monster. Iâm just ahead of the curve.â

They  call  me  devil  &  you  should  be  afraid.   INSP
His first real games as a Sponsor, his grandfather had been famous in the Capitol for his work in the Sponsoring and betting field. Aurelio was something of his prodigee. Taking in the hallway he was in, he saw a face and smiled, running his one hand through his signature gold hair, nodded in their direction. âHey, you wouldnât be able to offer a new face around here some directions would you?âÂ
âWell!â Cipher grinned as he looked over at the unfamiliar man. âAlways depends what kind of directions youâre after!â He was never the kind to show the right path to anyone. Ever.
Calypso was more determined to win this Games than sheâd ever been. Six months ago had been a warm up, she was just getting used to being back here. This time she was ready to show Panem what she was made of. She walked into one of the viewing rooms, and started speaking before she even found a target audience. âI have a good feeling about these Games.â She said, âNine might finally get another winner.â
âOh, I have a good feeling about these Games too!â Cipher spoke, grinning wickedly. The Capitolâs punishment didnât work, and now he was eager to prove it to them. âIâm counting on bloodier Games this year.â

Furrowing his eyebrows even more when he smiled. âFuck off.â Putting a hand to the guys shoulder, he shoved him a little. âTake a step back, you freak, before I show you why someone like you shouldnât piss someone like me off.â This guy was unnerving and Midas wanted to kick his ass but he couldnât not without the robotic Peacekeepers getting involved.
He barely took a step back as Midas shoved him, a smile remaining on his face. Slowly, Alexander walked back up to the younger man, leaning forward as he continued to smile the same polite smile. You could put all this make up on him, all those wigs, those clothes, and he would never be normal again. He was far too gone. âAre you sure someone like me shouldnât piss someone like you off?â He spoke close to Midasâ ear, in the tone that was far more alike to the way Cipher spoke. âSomeone so keen to get his clothes off, should know that they donât change much.â

âPast experiences? Who the fuck are you? I donât know who you are, and I donât give a fuck if I make you upset jackass.â Â After his run in with the Head Gamemaker, Midas was especially jumpy around guys at the moment, and this one was starting to irritate him.Â
He smiled, but the smile was different than the typical grin that was plastered over Cipherâs face. Instead, he watched the boy, intently, as he began to freak out, more and more coming back to the man. âYou should. You really should. You wouldnât want to upset someone like me.â He smiled again.
pegasusgleam:
âThatâs what I canât figure out,â Pegasus answered as he began to circle the man. Like the way your brain searches for an answer, hitting you with it the exact moment you remember, it became so obvious who he was speaking with. âCipher, sir?â He didnât know what else to say in his shock.
He raised a brow, standing still, letting the man examine him. Odd dread sunk into him as Pegasus recognized him; it was real, then. It had to be. If people began recognizing him, then it couldnât be just in his head anymore. The President was punishing him in ways that would work only for him. âHow many times have I told you not to call me sir?â He questioned him, and a smile on his face was different; gentler.
thevultur:
There he went again. Lysander took a deep breath and nodded malleably, refusing to take it to heart and truly listen to the aimless insults. âOxymoronic,â he smiled bitterly without saying anything else. There was no point and he wasnât the one for fights and insults. Who and what he was he knew and showed too well, having nothing to prove.
Cipher grinned, resting the gun on the desk as he stood up. Yet, the grin remained unreadable, his mood unpredictable. He wasnât playing nice anymore. âBig words for a small boy.â He spoke, still grinning. âCame here to say something to me, or are you going to go and whine behind my back to other Gamemakers, Deputy Vultur?â
lincolnargent:
He shook his head slightly, âI was checking on my sister,â he replied, indicating his head to his sister just behind Cipher.Â
âHow sweet of you.â Cipher raised a brow, looking back behind him and spotting the woman he was talking about. âpretty.â
midas-silk:
Frowning at the guy, he didnât like the way he said that, it sent a chill up Midas, and Midas never got chills. âYeah and what makes you so sure, buddy? You donât even know who the hell I am.âÂ
âPast experience.â It was still all behind a fog, hidden deep in there, but Cipher could recall bits and pieces. Enough to mess with the man even when he was dutifully playing the human part. âYouâre going to make me all upset.â

She wasnât aware sheâd been staring, shaking her head to jolt her out of it. âIâm so sorry.â she replied softly, âI hadnât realised.â
He narrowed his eyes, just the slightest, as he observed the woman. She was one of the many who couldnât recognize him, and he felt relieved. If he couldnât be recognized, then maybe he didnât exist at all. âCareful. You might stare at the wrong people.â
pegasusgleam:
He had caught sight of the man as he walked in and, until the moment he was caught staring, had forgotten the man could see him too. âSorry sir, you just look like someone I know.â Pegasus continued to stare, moving his eyes up and down the man. âI just canât put my finger on it.â
âThen donât.â He smiled, an almost human smile if you asked anyone else. âWho do you think I look like?â
