Welcome! Please take a look:
Intro:
Hi! Welcome to our blog! My name is Lizzy, and Ethan and I are the hosts of the Blorb System. We, as well as the body, are in our mid 20s, and I in particular am essentially a permanently front stuck host. This means I'm always in front, but oftentimes my headmates share front with me.
My blog's been up a little while, and mostly I use it to talk with one or two other systems I've made friends with. Ultimately what it's here for is connection, information and experience sharing, and as a shared space for my headmates and I to post on like a regular blog when we feel like it.
I won't claim to be an expert, not by any legitimate means, but I have done a fair amount of research, and I consider myself very open-minded. In creating this blog, I'm wanting to create a safe space. You can ask your "dumb" questions without judgement, you can ask about stereotypes, you can talk to fictives that come from characters you like if you're curious, you can discuss your system experiences, you can ask for information as a singlet- it's also a safe place to exist regardless of your identity. This is a safe place for poc (though please be aware I am white), for anyone under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella as many of us are, for other systems and alters, for singlets, for anyone going through mental illness or hardships in life, for therians and otherkin, for anyone from any walk of life.
This blog is still under construction, currently. I have an incomplete alter list down below(for those I know of and who are comfortable with being listed), and with it choose to let the blog be a safe space for my headmates above all else. You might see reblogged fanart from our sources, or mood boards for my headmates' interests, or text posts about how weird it is to have more than three fingers when in front, and plenty of interactions with other blogs we like to chat with... But as it stands now, the blog isn't especially busy.
Some rules for sending asks:
β’ Example rule. This is the important part to read. The rest of this is just explanation- why the rule is important and the parameters for it, maybe an example to try to make it make sense. You don't have to read this part as long as you follow the rule, but it might help.
β’ Please be open-minded and respectful! I understand how utterly bizarre multiplicity and identity disorders are, but for many people, this is reality, and it can be and often is very distressing. I'm really wanting to help normalize that and be informative about it, so... Be respectful not just for my sake, but for others'.
β’ Please nothing explicitly NSFW. Swearing is fine, but do not be unnecessarily excessive. I don't even mind lightly touching on darker and more intimate subjects, but given my goals with this blog, it isn't the place for especially heavy, dark, or inappropriate things.
β’ Do not automatically treat fictives like they are their sources. I mean this very light-heartedly, by the way-- many fictives identify heavily with their source characters and even have many psuedo memories that align with those characters. This is true for my system and others. Many alters, however, do not identify all that much with their sources, and do not want to be seen as their characters. Ultimately, regardless of the level of identification a fictive has with their source, fictives are never truly their source characters. While it is true that we are all parts of the same physical person, fictives and self-made alters alike are effectively their own people who split on the basis of protecting the mind and the body they inhabit, not simply because of a character they embody.
β’ Similarly, please do not treat fictives' sources like jokes. Many fictives, as I mentioned, have psuedo memories from their sources, and in some cases those memories feel very real and still affect those alters. For example, we have quite a few Rise of the TMNT fictives who recall the events of the movie much like real life events. They understand that those things didn't happen, but they carry the burden of that fear for their and their family's lives, so while they're open to discussing the movie it can be delicate territory. I do want to emphasize that source discussion is allowed and even welcomed! Just please be kind about how you speak, and be aware of how the person you're speaking to may be affected, the same as you would do for any person.
