While clockworks are soulless, heartless, and ruthless in their nature - Kane and Queen are an odd exception, at least within the company of the other.

It’s not unusual for him to hold doors open & chairs out for her, and only sit down after she has done so. He offers her his hand while walking over puddles, or down any set of stairs. In return, she will offer him clean pairs of gloves when his are dirtied, and will hold his hand anytime they are sitting together or watching any performances.

While small gestures, they’re signs of affection between them - as they cannot share the same physical intimacy as humans.

Quietly judging his counterpart’s cookie-decorating skills, Deacon looks at his own before carefully applying the frosting and gumdrops. He does this patiently - a habit of his in wanting to do things thoroughly. He’d seen others doing this sort of thing before and naturally knew what to do.

“I have yet to understand why anyone would do this, let alone Clockworks.” He comments, subtly straightening one of Good!Deacon’s cookies. “-I think feeding them to my prisoners is the only way these can be remotely useful.”
