THEIR STORY
When you’re from Lima, Ohio, and you hear the name Schuester, you can’t help but think about a family known for their love of singing. And in part, that also applies to Daniel Christopher Schuester. After all, he was a member of the high school’s glee club. But he was also a member of the chess club, math club, and debate team. And if that wasn’t enough to place him at the bottom of the social ladder, he could be found with his nose in a book whenever he had some downtime.
Daniel likes to be called by his middle name, Christopher, or Chris to his siblings and friends. Only his parents call him Daniel.
Chris came into his own when he attended MIT. Coming from a close-knitted family, he struggled with homesickness in the first few months while he lived in Boston, but thanks to Facetime and hour-long phone conversations with his parents and, most of all, his siblings, he managed to find a way to cope with it all. After getting a robotic engineering degree, he moved to San Francisco for a few years. Here’s where he found out he was actually cool compared to his fellow nerds there.
Chris had a hard time finding a job he could see himself do the rest of his life. But after working many odd jobs, he finally found his dream job as medical robotic engineer.
It’s been years since the Schuester siblings last lived in the same town. When Chris heard that his sister and, later on, his brother had moved to Ashford Valley, he decided to move the tiny house he had built singlehandedly to the outskirts of that small town and surprise them.
That tiny house is his pride and joy and, of course, stacked with all the latest gadgets and a television that is far too big for the place.
If you see Chris walking around in an outfit that isn’t as color-coordinated as it should be, do not hesitate to tell him. He’s colorblind. He's also a major klutz, known to trip over his feet numerous times. And, as for something that makes him stand out from the rest of the Schuesters, he’s ambidextrous, which means he uses both his hands equally; he can write with both left and right but chooses to mostly write with his right hand to avoid smudging what he has written.
He’s not a morning person. Chris needs at least 3 cups of coffee to wake up in the morning.
