On one hand, I'm delighted that people in on my other site (the secret sexy belly zone lol) like my ocs and actually give my art attention. I have never had that experience before. My irl life is extremely lonely and empty, so it's so lovely to talk to people about my stories, both the deep stuff and the sexy stuff! However, I do wish more of them were cognisant of personal boundaries. I feel like every week now I'm telling at least one person off. The lack of respect for basic boundaries is truly astounding. And I haven't even cracked 200 followers there.
I wouldn't even call my art super kinky; it's literally just fat characters portrayed lovingly in vanilla pin-ups. I'm not sure why people see that and think it means I want to see my (canonically monogamous, and also partially based on myself) character having sex or getting handsy with their male OC, or drawn in extreme kink, ie: with a prolapsed asshole. (Yes, that is something someone asked if they could draw, and, yes, I was viscerally horrified.)
I have only ever portrayed my OC romantically with their wife or ex-partner. None of my work involves exposed genitals. All interactions with my friends oc's are purely platonic. You would think people would be able to read the room, but I guess media literacy is dead even in amateur indie spaces.
I know that is by no means an experience unique to me, but I'm shocked and a little saddened by how early it's happening to me in my art journey. I really wish being a boundary bully carried the stigma it deserves.
