bucky is much less open about his past than steve was in canon so none of them except maybe nat are aware he's actually the same age as steve, technically. so they're just like. i guess hes into....old guys?

steve is not interested in dealing with peoples reactions to their genuine tragic romance so he goes all in on hiding it. if anyone asks he's telling them they met on grindr, which he gets away with for four months until somebody brings it up to bucky and he clearly has no idea what grindr is.

somebody asks what first got them interested in each other and bucky answers genuinely but leaves out the time issues of it all so he just goes 'we both liked baseball'. does not mention they were six years old in 1923 when it happened.

highschool avenger aus never take advantage of the very weird energy howard has with/about steve in canon. maintain that. tony and steve have a highschool rivalry because tony's dad wants to fuck steve soooo bad. or perhaps simply replace tony with steve as his ideal son. the fact its unclear which option he wants is not making things less Weird for tony (or steve, to be honest).
